What a lovely pub. Great atmosphere and steeped in history. Staff are really friendly and attentive and the food is first rate. Compliments to the chef. And to complete my visit they have a timeline. Lovely and we will revisit and we will recommend.

We absolutely adore this pub. The owners, the chef, and the staff are amazing. Whether we're craving a delicious burger or traditional pub food, this is our top choice. The burgers, including the falafel burger, are outstanding! The drinks are also of high quality. This is a must-visit spot in Melton Mowbray.

We reserved a table for four adults at this restaurant on Saturday, February 8th. Both parties traveled two hours from different parts of the country to meet up. We are glad we chose this pub as the food was delicious and the staff were friendly and polite. The atmosphere made us feel like we had gone back in time, full of history. Four of us had lunch. We all enjoyed it very much indeed. An enormous choice of food, and everything was marvellous. Two small gripes. Firstly I would really like a cocktail when I go for a girly lunch. Second, if I book a table I really expect table service. But neither of those things would stop me going here again. And I might even make a special trip just to have the chunky chips again!

I went to a local restaurant with some friends for a birthday celebration. The beer selection was good and reasonably priced. However, the portions of fish and chips were small and left us wanting more. We were disappointed with the overall value for the price we paid. The mushy peas and tartar sauce were decent. Unfortunately, our experience was not as good as some other reviews I had read. This visit did not leave us eager to return for another meal anytime soon.

I had said that was an excellent place to eat. my friend traveled a long distance to come to lunch after I told her it was recommended. our main complaint was the bad service, drinks over the table twice, with a...Giggle of 2 different servers and no offer of wipe off the table, I told the server that I wanted only green beans on my meal, but it came with the sweetness I didn't like, 2 people couldn't work out our bill, it was a shameful and fable. After I had repeatedly emailed the owner by e-mail, I now sign my bad review that I would not have done if he had replied to my asking at a time he replied, but I had no feed back to our experience.
