This is a wonderful old pub with fantastic food and a charming staff. I highly recommend it!

I had a fantastic meal! The lamb was succulent, and the apple crumble was to die for. The service was excellent as well.

Only people in the pub, no atmosphere. Not sure how much longer it will remain open! Didn't know about our booking. Access for disabled not the best. Ver carta

eating was good that we went on Sunday that lunch was just the crumble and custard the little jug with custard contained only one table spoon full the most

Enjoyed the meal but very disappointed not to have been told the kitchen closed at 9pm and so were unable to have desserts. Had table booked for 8pm so not just a walk on. Surely the staff should have mentioned this fact when we arrived

Very disappointing service very slow, but few people in restaurant goodness knows what it would have been like if they had been busy the person serving us was quite scruffy, and wearing shorts all food pretty mediocre edible, but nothing special Ver carta

Unfortunately, my experience was not pleasant. Despite the restaurant being empty, the service was slow, and when the food finally arrived, it was reminiscent of school cafeteria meals. Many menu items were unavailable, and the atmosphere was lacking; the decor could definitely use an update. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The beef could not be cut, leave alone chewed. Meal luke warm. Vegetables not just crisp but very much under cooked. My husband told the waitress and she said she would tell the kitchen . When we came to pay my husband again complained to the manager/owner and she just gave us the glass of coke and pineapple juice free of charge. I would not recommend it to anyone and would certainly not go there again. It was our 45th Wedding Anniversary and we mat as well have gone to McDonalds at least their food is hot.

We booked a table here on a Saturday evening through OpenTable however on arrival were told they had no record of this as it was a private party. The girl behind the bar was quite shocked we were there however said we could eat but there would be a wait. As it was a Saturday night and everywhere else seemed packed we felt we should give it a go and I'm glad we did! We went straight into the main course I had chicken supreme which was delicious my husband had the burger also excellent and the others had gammon and fish and chips which once again were also good. Despite being told there would be a wait there wasn't the food came out quickly and the service was good. Only two of us had puddings... Ver carta
