Had an amazing beef roast dinner here yesterday, the food was wonderful proper Yorkshire puddings the chef was excellent and nothing was too much trouble, definitely will be back

We stopped by for a drink now that we are able to. The restaurant was well organized, and the staff were welcoming and accommodating. They followed social distancing protocols and checked us in as required. Overall, we had a pleasant evening.

originally this pub did not look promising, but phenomena can be deceptive. recently introduced, the pub now houses a Thai restaurant, and the food and service were excellent. eating was fresh and authentic, and was in the right amount. time served. if they like to thai, they will like the bull. Went in here for a family meal, the food was lovely. I had slow cooked ox cheek in a red wine gravy with mash, it was lovely and tender and tasted great. Everyone else enjoyed their food too. I think a new chef is here....We also had a nice bottle of wine too and I believe they are doing cocktails soon so definitely going back . Excellent value for money .

Unfortunately, our booking stated that breakfast was included but it was not provided. We were moved to the annex, possibly because there were no staff on the property after the pub closed. Since it was a Monday, there was no food available, but there are plenty of other restaurants in Downton to choose from. The menu primarily consisted of Thai food with a limited English selection, so keep that in mind if you are looking for traditional pub fare. Upon entering the annex, we found that the bathroom floor had not been cleaned from the previous guest(s) and there was mud on the floor. There was also hair left in the plug hole. On a positive note, we were able to come and go as we pleased with...

Thought a treat was on the cards so ventured out into the village for some food and a drink. Told on a bank hol weekend that there would be no food all weekend due to a mix up with chefs hours. Stayed for a couple...of drinks. Toilets were dirty. Staff stopped taking Covid T&T details as the hours went by. Bar was full of very loud chavvy girls, nothing was done to stop their quite frankly disgusting language, in fact we saw the landlord joined in with them encouraged them! Saw at least tables leave because of this. Definitely not a pub for kids or families. Won’t be rushing back for another visit. we have been here before, as one of our midday stops between the south coast and wales. sad covid has taken his toll, but without doubt it will recover in the full of time. we were from a huge and. very hairy (some of them left it on me, but friendly mountain dog. the pub has changed little in the physical sense and we were greeted by a charming young lady who brought us to our table. the lunch menu was small but made smaller by the fact that a series of articles were not available. the food itself was delivered immediately and although the portions were not as generous as before, the quality was very acceptable. for the first time in my run for a pub we had to pay for our drinks and eat sep...

However, there was a persistent high-pitched noise coming from either the air conditioning or the extractor fan that continued throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep. My partner struggled with the shower, as the water kept fluctuating between cold and tepid temperatures. I tried the shower as well, but encountered the same issue. Although we knew we had paid a lower price for the room, we had expected a clean and comfortable place to rest. The bed itself was clean and cozy, however, we decided not to stay for our second night due to the various issues we encountered. The staff mentioned that the stress caused by the room's difficulties could have contributed to our dissatisfact...

We thought we'd stop here on our way back home for dinner. Big mistake. We arrived and sat down but then waited minutes for drinks, the priority seemed to be for the customers at the bar. Having looked on the website earlier and booked...a table, extremely annoyed to find out that they were not running the menu online but instead a new one, which is extremely basic and limited. We didn't want to stay but with tired hungry kids we were forced. After finally ordering, half an hour into the visit, we waited a further minutes for starters. The times wouldn't have mattered if it was busy, but we were the only people eating there. The starters arrived and to be fair, were very nice. We ordered mes... Ver carta
