"Ate here on occasion a year apart, both times very disappointing. We put the first time down to it just being reopened and thought we would give it another chance as it is our local pub serving traditional pub grub (although the steaks are ridiculously priced, but the second outing was actually worse! Share platters brought with the starters after we asked for them beforehand, goats cheese and pea salad with no goats cheese and no dressing, like someone had grabbed a handful of rocket and popped it on a plate and charge you for it, needless to say we sent it back. We ordered scallop entrees and all the scallops were over cooked. Then we moved on to the mains, we asked for both steaks to be medium rare, both came out well done (how a so called chef can do that to a fillet steak I don't know) sent one of them back only for it to come back blue, actually fridge cold in the middle! It still tasted better then the rubber we got to begin with but left the icicle in the middle. The waitress was very accommodating and tried her best to rectify problems, she didn't charge for the share platters, nor the salad but then we did find a lot of random drinks added to the bill that we didn't order. Very disappointing, will not be giving it a third chance"

Went to the bull for lunch with three friends. Food was probably the worst I’ve ever had in a pub. Not a pleasant experience!

Regularly come here. Always good food and atmosphere. Today was no exception. Our server today was Nette who looked after us very well.

Place was nice and clean and the food,Hunters chicken and Cottage Pie was also excellent. Served by the friendly Liza and will have to go back as the pensioners midweek menu looks good.

Took our parents for Sunday lunch, we hadn't booked but were thoughtfully seated. (One of our party was sensitive to noise) The roast was lovely with lovely variety of vegetables including cauli cheese. Clean plates all round! Great value! Ver carta

We went out for a Friday night pub meal in The Bull. The place looks nice on the outside, it is equally nice on the inside, albeit it was a bit quiet. We went for a few beers, a bottle of wine, some spectacular American dirty burgers and a few desserts. We had a great time and will be back.

I have been to this restaurant twice, a year apart, and both experiences were very disappointing. The first time we thought maybe they were just newly opened and needed some time to improve, so we decided to give them another chance, especially since it is our local pub serving traditional pub fare. However, even though the steaks were ridiculously expensive at £25, the second visit was even worse. We ordered a sharing platter of appetizers, but they came without the accompaniments we requested, such as goat cheese and dressing for the cheeks. We then ordered three scallop entrees, but all the scallops were overcooked. Overall, the experience was disappointing and we will not be returning.

We visited The Bull primarily to use their car park as we had brief business to conduct in Dereham and parking there is tricky, to say the least! Having parked in The Bull 's car park, we had lunch there, which was quickly delivered, very nice and extremely good value for money. Loved the decor in the ladies loos! The lady who served us was super-friendly and helpful and it served our purpose perfectly. The added bonus was that whilst in Dereham I lost the cover to my Burberry umbrella and the helpful lady had found it and kept it behind the bar. Other bonus was that they sell Gordons Pink Zero Alcohol Gin! If we have to visit our solicitors in Dereham again, we would definitely return to Th...

"Where do I even begin? The service from the woman behind the bar was shocking. When I inquired about dairy-free options for my son, I was told that nothing could be modified and that they don't cater to allergies at all! I pointed out the menu's claim that they could accommodate such needs, but my concerns were met with an eye roll. I then tried to order him some chips, but was told they were fried in the same oil as dairy and meat products, and since we are vegetarian, that wouldn't work. I asked about the vegan dishes, only to learn that they are also prepared alongside meat products, so there's no guarantee they would actually be vegan. At this point, my daughters had already become excited about eating out and the play area, so I reluctantly decided to go along with it and ordered three sandwiches on granary bread and a child's fish and chips. My son had a packet of crisps. When the sandwiches arrived, they were absolutely terrible. The cheese and onion sandwich consisted of two slices of cheap store-bought bread, some pre-grated cheese, and a few onion slices—without even a hint of butter! It certainly wasn’t inexpensive; we paid £45 for four soft drinks, three sandwiches, and a child's meal. As for the play area, it was concerning—there were sharp screws poking through the wood chips, loose sharp fixtures on top of the slide, and a large exposed electric cable under the swings! We decided to leave swiftly; it was such a disappointing way to end our holiday, when it should have been a lovely final meal before heading home. I was appalled by their attitude towards me—I felt like an inconvenience. The food was awful, and I genuinely recommend avoiding this place if you are vegan or have allergies; even if a dish is labeled vegan, they certainly don’t take the necessary precautions to keep it separate from meat products. It’s truly unfortunate, as the location by the river is beautiful, and we were all so excited to be there, but we left feeling very disappointed. We definitely won't be returning."
