"We have been loyal customers for many years, but today's experience was extremely disappointing. We waited 30 minutes for our drinks, and when they finally arrived, we were told that the server was new. While understanding, I politely reminded her about our order. Despite this, our food never arrived, causing stress for my 90-year-old diabetic mother who needed to eat. After 45 minutes and another reminder, we were met with annoyance rather than politeness. As a restaurant owner myself for 14 years, I know how busy it can get, but the restaurant was nearly empty at that time. When the food finally arrived, it was subpar - my bacon and Brie were mostly fat, while my mother's turkey was mostly stuffing. No one checked in on us or apologized for the delay."

"Came across this pub by accident when we got diverterted off the A47 during lunch time. Looks very inviting from outside, massive garden. Inside very welcoming, traditional looking pub with fireplace and beams. Lots of choice on the menu, with specials on offer. Staff were very, very friendly, explaining soup of the day and the days daily fish catch available. Large choice of beers available, lots of tables in bar and restaurant area. More than happy for our two dogs in the bar area and made us all feel very welcome. Food was fantastic with large portions I'm glad we didn't opt for a starter, but from what we saw, they looked fabulous) Very big piece of fresh tasting fish, lots of scampi, chips were perfect. Could not fault anything about the pub, food, service, everything was to very high standard, quite glad we got lost really, well worth the additional miles, highly recommended. "Where do I even begin? The service from the woman behind the bar was shocking. When I inquired about dairy-free options for my son, I was told that nothing could be modified and that they don't cater to allergies at all! I pointed out the menu's claim that they could accommodate such needs, but my concerns were met with an eye roll. I then tried to order him some chips, but was told they were fried in the same oil as dairy and meat products, and since we are vegetarian, that wouldn't work. I asked about the vegan dishes, only to learn that they are also prepared alongside meat products, so there's no guarantee they would actually be vegan. At this point, my daughters had already become excited about eating out and the play area, so I reluctantly decided to go along with it and ordered three sandwiches on granary bread and a child's fish and chips. My son had a packet of crisps. When the sandwiches arrived, they were absolutely terrible. The cheese and onion sandwich consisted of two slices of cheap store-bought bread, some pre-grated cheese, and a few onion slices—without even a hint of butter! It certainly wasn’t inexpensive; we paid £45 for four soft drinks, three sandwiches, and a child's meal. As for the play area, it was concerning—there were sharp screws poking through the wood chips, loose sharp fixtures on top of the slide, and a large exposed electric cable under the swings! We decided to leave swiftly; it was such a disappointing way to end our holiday, when it should have been a lovely final meal before heading home. I was appalled by their attitude towards me—I felt like an inconvenience. The food was awful, and I genuinely recommend avoiding this place if you are vegan or have allergies; even if a dish is labeled vegan, they certainly don’t take the necessary precautions to keep it separate from meat products. It’s truly unfortunate, as the location by the river is beautiful, and we were all so excited to be there, but we left feeling very disappointed. We definitely won't be returning."

"I’ve read some reviews of barnham broom. I can’t believe anyone would give it a 5 star rating. Stayed there two nites with friends, We ate at the brasserie on the first day, three starters were sent back and because they were so bad(dried and rubbery) we ordered crab cakes instead, Two had pieces of shell to them. As of mains. Duck cooked ok but orange sauce brown tasteless sludge. Vegetables over cooked. Hashed potatoes square stodgy block. The main that was of reasonable taste was the canalone. Did’nt bother with pudding as you might of guessed. Wine overpriced(39.95 for an ordinary Prosecco). As for the sports bar. It was so bad I haven’t time to write everything. Service was terrible.orders wrong. Food out at different times.Worst was none tasted halfway decent. I found it difficult to give the place one star. I will go back to play golf as both courses good, especially the valley course but will eat and drink somewhere else.shame as setting and views lovely. ."

"In 11 years on this estate I’ve only had one breakfast here and I think it was buffet style then Aug 2015) but can’t be sure. My wife and I had a large breakfast and the kids had 3 X kids breakfasts £3.75). The large breakfasts really are quite huge, 4 sausages, 4 Hash browns, 2 rashers of bacon, 2 eggs, 1 piece of white toast wish they had choice of brown or seeded) and beans. My wife got less beans than the kids for some reason, so not consistent with the sizes, but overall a decent brekkie and the cappuccinos were lovely!! I’m so pleased they allow dogs now, it makes it much more viable to visit."
