Great starters, very average mains and bought in very poor desserts. Being seated next to gents lavatory wasn't a great start given other empty tables around. Ver carta

Another excellent visit to the Canalside with friends. Staff, as always, were very good, as was the quality of the food. Haddock main was especially good, although a mix of salad and peas, rather than a choice between the two would just finish the dish.

Service was slow at first. Food when it arrived was nice and offer of splitting a dessert between two of us was nice. Had been told it was cold but we found it warm enough. Wine seems quite expensive. Bill when it arrived was wrong but happy to take it and amend.

Booked following search on Google. Staff were very very friendly and attentive. Food good. Atmosphere was not ideal, maybe better at night time with candles. Very tourist roadside stop off feeling about it. Tables in rows etc. Website good but photo creates a different style to reality. Could be really good as staff fantastic but def need to create a better armosphere. Ver carta

The food was delightful: the prawn tempura was exquisite, my pork belly was expertly cooked, and the small dish of baked beans added a nice touch. Stephen's sea bass was reportedly delicious. I heard the deconstructed lemon cheesecake was outstanding! As for the wine list, the Chilean Sauvignon Blanc felt a bit lackluster. Overall, it’s a lovely place that’s definitely worth a visit.

We enjoyed a lovely meal featuring vegetable kebabs, a burger, and Thai curry, all beautifully presented. Our waitress mentioned that the curry had a bit of a kick, but we didn't realize just how spicy it would be—it was hotter than a vindaloo! The staff were happy to provide yogurt when we requested it, but we ended up receiving raita instead. For dessert, we had New York cheesecake, sticky toffee pudding, and lemon bars, all exquisitely presented and thoroughly enjoyed.

I visited this restaurant on February 14th for a lovely dinner to celebrate my daughter's birthday on February 15th. They made a delightful vegetarian fry for two of my daughters upon request. The staff was very polite and helpful, and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place. However, I do suggest expanding the kids' menu to include more vegetable options and creating a separate dessert menu for children, as the current options seem limited. Additionally, the steak could use a bit more variety, as it was boiled. Ver carta
