This is a very charming and quiet hotel. It's old and dated but that's the typical Scarborough experience. I liked that breakfast starts 7:30am so I was able to eat before work. This is a lovely hotel with incredibly friendly and helpful staff, tucked away in a terrace just off the centre of town. It overlooks a nice little park on the other side of which is Scarborough art gallery which is well worth a visit. The hotel room was spacious and the breakfasts were very good, with perfectly poached eggs and beautifully cooked mushrooms! A gem of a place. Rooms: Spacious and well appointed. Stayed here recently while on a weekend retreat at Samye Dzong, just across the road through a small pretty park. Hotel was wonderful, central location, warm, comfortable rooms, loads of hot water, and amazing, thoughtful staff. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, offering to do bar meals in residents sitting room, accommodating guests with a dog, every member of staff made sure guests were treated as individuals and delivered a personal service. Breakfasts were generous, tasty and very well priced and the bar meals were also very good. I think this hotel delivers excellent, personalized service, at great prices, in a very central location.
