"Came here with a friend and the husband to have lunch. It is a little out of the way, but even on the day we arrived it was cold, wet and miserable somehow that all disappeared when you walked through the door. Welcomed by a lovely member of staff and we sat down with our menus. Notable point, they have a very accessible toilet, other places should pay attention! Ordered drinks and food, and both were excellent. We all went for the fish and chips which was superb. If you are headed this way and fancy a good meal, pop in as you won't be disappointed. We had a meal here last night as a post wedding celebration. Firstly I'm glad I booked well in advance because the pub was very busy when we arrived. The atmosphere inside was lovely, we were greeted by more than one member of staff. The staff were all fantastic, young enthusiastic, very accommodating and punctual. My wife and I went for an early dinner at the Crown at Pantygelli recently. The food was absolutely delicious. We shared a starter of salt and pepper calamari, which was beautifully presented and delicious. I then had the slow cooked beef cheek in red wine sauce which was sooo tender and flavourful, the red wine sauce was perfect and the celeriac puree was a delicious accompaniment. My wife had the chicken, mushroom truffle pie with puff pastry, with tender pieces of chicken and tasty mushrooms in a creamy sauce. A lovely meal provided with excellent service.
