The Cuckmere Inn - Carta

I took my future wife to the Golden Galleon on our first date in 1994 I am a Craft Beer fanatic and I heard that it was a brew pub.

Lovely pub food very popular with families. We arrived here after a good walk and in need of a late lunch. Really good vegetarian choices too.

Lovely cosy atmosphere with a real fire. Staff were attentive and friendly. Food very good. All round lovely evening with friends. Will definitely come here again.

our waitress Sarah was excellant and the food was of good quality with really good portions, and would definately recommend as a place to eat lunch. As very popular some delay with the food but worth the wait.

Excellent meals. Lovely atmosphere. Excellent waiting staff. One tiny comment. I ordered a pavlova it wasn’t a pavlova. If was a very large meringue. It looked amazing but too large for me to finish. It should be called a meringue not a pavlova. Very different. Nonetheless this didn’t spoil our experience. Ver carta

Have been going here for years , recently the menu has been more limited and I have some allergens but they are always keen to adapt, The location is fantastic, particularly outside with the view over The Cuckmere . Today I found the service amazing , really polite and helpful guys. The food was great, beautifully presented.

Unfortunately we had to wait about 45 mins for our food to arrive, and when it did the meat inside the 'Pie of the day ' which was beef and Merlot was little and gristly, the mash potato was cold. A caesar salad was further delayed and when it did it had some strips of uncooked bacon in it. A side order of sweet potato fries arrived cold. I must say the waiter gave us no cause for complaint, he did his best.

SADLY THE FOOD WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. IT WAS MY WIFE'S BIRTHDAY AND IT WAS A DISAPPOINTMENT. IT WAS SUNDAY AND WE HAD THE ROASTS. I HAD THE BEEF AND MY WIFE HAD THE PORK BELLY. WE CLEARLY ASKED THE WAITRESS THAT I WANTED THE BEEF VERY RARE AND THE PORK BELLY VERY CRISPY AND WELL DONE. THE FOOD CAME: BEEF DARK BROWN OVERCOOKED TOUGH AS LEATHER. PORK BELLY PRATICALLY RAW, WHEN I ASKED THE WAITRESS I WAS TOLD THE CHEF COULDN'T DO IT COZ THE BEEF WAS PRE-COOKED AND IT WAS ALL LIKE THAT. THE PORK WENT BACK AND CAME BACK TORCHED ON THE TOP AND THE VEG. AND GRAVY CAME BACK COLD. ALL IN ALL I PAID £56 FOR TERRIBLE FOOD. WILL NEVER GO BACK AND WIIL MAKE SURE NONE OF MY FRIENDS WILL GO THERE. PEOPLE STA... Ver carta
