spent christmas here. wonderful time. politics and helpful staff. cottage was clean, well equipped and unique in style. the restaurant offers well cooked and delicious food. by recommending the complete English breakfast included in the cost of the house. the bar was well equipped and the glasses glittered. I will return and recommend to family and friends. thank you.

We stopped by for lunch and were pleasantly surprised with this great find. The pub/restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. The food was excellent - we tried the Garlic Butter Prawns with salad and bread to soak up the sauce, as well as the Pork Belly bites with apple sauce. Both dishes were cooked perfectly. There were problems with service on the day we visited. For a group of 7 pre-booked, the first dish was served and eaten before the remaining six arrived. Also, there were problems in the kitchen understanding what is wheat free and what isn't. That could be hugely serious in someone with severe allergic reaction. The staff were friendly and sympathetic but they failed on administration and service. I must say..., the food we were ultimately served was excellent but the pain in the ordering process and ultimate delivery meant we won't be returning. Sorry but it's the honest truth.

Hard to know what to say about this place beyond that it was a convenient place to meet s friend coming from the other direction and it seems to be reasonably popular with people. Indifferent and at times fairly clueless service. Food very disappointing. We didn't have the roast (lots of people seemed to, who obviously knew something we didn't). We chose lighter options which sounded interesting but were just bizarre and bad eg a calamari salad inexplicably padded out with slices of baguette topped with houmous. Squirty cream with the ice cream was strange and superfluous. We ate outside as it was a nice day but there is a lot of road noise which clearly they can't help. Inside looked nice b...

The food was exquisite and the chef needs to be recognised more in these reviews: she was incredible! However, the service not so. If the delay in serving the food is due to the chef making a culinary masterpiece, we didn't mind. However, when the sauce to my meal was literally dumped down beside my finished food plate without a sincere apology, that's down to the waiting staff. Drink orders were honoured swiftly, but our waitress appeared to be wholeheartedly disinterested in our satisfaction and more interested in just getting the job done (even once rolling her eyes at us as I dared to change my mind within seconds and also abruptly correcting my husbands pronunciation of a dish!!
