"I won't say much about the Donkey Sanctuary itself (you can google it to find out how much of a good cause it is) but I will talk about the amazing new restaurant they have. You can sit by the windows, overlooking the donkeys playing in the fields and enjoy some food including vegan dishes! There aren't many but they cater for both breakfast and lunch and the food is really tasty I had a fantastic risotto (often meh but not here) and my partner a sandwich. It would be nice if they had more options but its a step in the right direction to now cater for vegans. Go see the donkeys and eat some great food!"

The breakfast, burger, sandwich, panini, and cake options for vegans were impressive and visually appealing. I appreciated that the vegan choices were consistently highlighted above the animal-based options on the menu.

Came here for breakfast twice on our trip, had the full vegan breakfast and the breakfast bap which were both very good. Offers soy milk for drinks and vegan spread for toast. A couple of vegan cakes/flapjacks on offer too. Ver carta

love to visit the donkeys here personal are beautiful. they have vegan burger, sandwich, pasty cake in caffe plus vegan ice cream in the stall outside. I had the burger fungus, red pfeffer, avocado, tom zwiebel chutney with coleslaw chips it was really nicely cheap. her jaffa cake is really good (on a previous trip in the fairytale)

I love visiting the donkeys here, and the staff are wonderful! They offer a variety of vegan options including burgers, sandwiches, and pasties in the café, along with vegan ice cream available in the stable outside. I had the mushroom burger with red pepper, avocado, tomato, onion chutney, and coleslaw—everything was delicious and very affordable. By the way, the Jaffa cake I had during a previous visit in March was fantastic!

"We visited Sidmouth on 19th July with my wife's god-daughter and her sister. Having spent some time on the beach we wanted to have a meal and The Mocha was right in front of us so we decided to eat there. The menu said that they were serving up to 3pm and we went in at 2.50 so we all quickly made our choices and I went up to the counter to order, arriving at 2.55. There was one elderly gentleman in front of me buy a coffee. However the server seemed to be having some trouble making the order and then the gentleman had some issues making his payment resulting in my arrival at the counter at 3.01, literally 3.01, one minute past 3pm, only to be told they weren't taking any more food orders as it was past 3pm. I argued that I had been in the queue for six minutes and that I would have ordered before 3pm if they hadn't taken so long to sort one coffee order out but to no avail. The member of staff in question was very abrupt to the point of being rude and it was quite clear she could not be bothered to take our order as other staff were dashing around clearing tales and it may have resulted in the staff having to wait for us to finish our meal before they could close up. If they are not going to accept orders up to 3pm then they shouldn't state this on the menu and I have never been in a restaurant or cafe where they refuse to take an order which would have exceeded £60 after I had joined a queue before the closing time. They are lucky they can afford to turn away over £60's worth of business. The customer service here was zero and would not recommend visiting a place where the staff are so rude or so unhelpful."
