"Still on cloud 9 after a wonderful long birthday weekend with my hubby at this lovely hotel. We booked here as a base to explore the Peak District and celebrate my birthday and it definitely exceeded our expectations! We booked to stay in the Napoleon suite and were both honestly blown away with how impressive it is not just in size but all the facilities and little touches that have been added just helped to make it extra special. The cookies were delicious and having these replenished and the bottled water plus a coffee machine and a DAB radio were an added bonus. Plus having two TVs meant we could both watch something from the bed and from the bath which was just heavenly…. The room itself is stunning and beautifully decorated with a large roll top bath, waterfall shower and king size bed which was super comfortable. The wardrobe is a great size with bathrobes in which is another nice addition though we sadly didn’t get a chance to make use of these. My one complaint about the room is that it wasn’t as clean as it should have been especially on the tables and side tables plus a few marks on the wall and big stains on curtain and the dust and damage to some items need addressing and updating as it’s looking a tad tired and tatty in some areas. All this could be rectified very easily with a touch of paint and items replacement to ensure the room lives up to its high standard wow factor upon first appearance. We dined downstairs in the restaurant on the Friday evening and the drinks we had in the bar prior to the meal and our dinner and wine that we consumed were excellent and great value for money. Jacob the waiter was superb with his attentiveness and level of customer service and attention to detail. The layout and decor of the bar/restaurant is really warm and inviting and has a cool quirky vibe that makes you want to immerse yourself in the surroundings completely and experience it to the full which we definitely did. Overall we throughly enjoyed our stay here and have not only recommended to friends but very much look forward to returning in the near future! :"

They didn’t seem to have enough staff on our visit. It took 20 mins for drinks to arrive, the child’s dinner was cold as was mine. In their favour they replaced both and the team were very apologetic but we won’t visit again before 5 on a Sunday.

We had dinner with our family on a Sunday evening while visiting the area. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was inviting. There is a large car park available and I know from previous visits that they have a lovely garden for the summer months.

Had lunch a one night stay. The sandwich was entirely forgettable the chips stuck together in clumps. The room had a bathroom with peeling paint on the walls and a bath towel wedged along its window opening, in a vain attempt to stop the cold from coming in. Won’t be going again, nor recommending others to do so.

This place used to be fabulous with all home cooked food. Unfortunately it has now gone all Marston's branded, with food presumably bought in and heated up on site. I'm sure that makes a higher profit margin per plate for Marstons but its not what I want I try really hard to avoid ultra processed food, I cook from scratch at home, and I expect restaurants to do the same. The food has changed from fabulous to average and I won't be back in a hurry.

Entrance crowded with smokers, so a cloud of tobacco to walk through to get in.. then met disintersted bar staff, who serve 'extra cold ' Guinness at room temperature and really do not care when told about it, same as the restaurant staff who were so uninterested when told the seats were dirty and should be cleaned.. almost like they were above speaking to the public. A venue with great potential, but sadly the staff need re training or replacing.

I recently attended a club meeting at the Library and found the venue to be nice, with very helpful staff. However, I was shocked at the prices Marstons charged for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and Chile. The ordinary wine was priced at £14 and £10 respectively, making it quite expensive. It's best to stick to water with your meal to avoid overspending on drinks. Several people in our group were also surprised by the prices when they received their drinks.

My friend had a voucher, which we gladly used. We decided to go for lunch and were delighted with our experience. We were greeted with a smile and seated immediately. The entire staff was friendly and eager to assist. My friend chose the steak pie and I opted for fish and chips. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, which were delicious and served piping hot. The efficiency of the staff was impressive, and the kitchen should be commended for the quality of the food and its presentation. Jake primarily served us and provided exceptional service, but all the staff members were fantastic.

I love this hotel. So much so, I organised my team meeting here just before Christmas and 10 of us stayed here and had dinner. We also used the meeting room facilities which was great. We work for a national pub co and we were very impressed with the service and experience. I subsequently stayed here whilst on business a couple of times. Tonight, 23rd Jan 24, I decided to eat elsewhere whilst staying here (The Bluebell; which was great). We arrived back at The Farmouse at 10:56pm and asked for a drink to take up to our room. The duty manager said no; the bar is closed and that is that. I was very surprised at this and said so; to be told that I was rude and needed to leave because the bar wa...

"My friend and I wanted somewhere different to go for some late lunch and so we decided on the Cosy Club. Although my friend had been once before a while back, it was my very first time visiting. As you walk in, you're greeted with an almost vintage-y feel and it's great! Old paintings upon the wall and retro furniture too, but that's not all. Ascending the stairs to the top, we got to the first bit of the club which is the bar area and what a fab area it is too, to relax and enjoy and Beveridge or two. Further down is where the restaurant is located and a lovely restaurant it is too. Very ornate with a fancy oldy-worldy vibe, almost like stepping back in time. The decor and glass chandeliers make for a very luxurious, almost palatial feel. The staff were really friendly and showed us to a table where after a short time of waiting, we had water poured for us before choosing what we'd like to eat and drink. I decided to go for the dirty chicken burger and I'm glad I did. The portion size was great, and there was plenty going on in the burger; the flavours were tantalising! Everything was cooked really well and tasted good (oh and the berry cider they have is certainly worth a try! After spending time enjoying our meal, we paid for the bill and were able to make our way, with our drinks, to the bar area to take a sit and enjoy the vibe further. I would certainly recommend the Cosy Club to anyone looking for something different, with a cool vibe and great food. Thank you to the staff for a pleasant and enjoyable visit, will certainly be returning! :"
