"If you visit on the weekend, you'll find it packed with the Chelsea tractor crowd. However, midweek offers a more enjoyable experience that feels more like a cozy pub rather than a destination restaurant following a Times review. The Toad in the Hole was overcooked, but the steak was pretty good, and the liver and bacon dish was excellent. As expected, it's pricey since it's positioned as a gastro pub rather than a local spot. It competes with other nearby eateries that focus on food and not just drinks, like Ebrington, Horse and Groom, and even the Butchers in Stow. I'm not sure if the area really needs another option, but here it is. Overall, I’d rate the food, service, and atmosphere all at 4 out of 5."

Just called in for a lunch time drink. For a Saturday lunch time it was really busy with dinners. The pub is set beside the village green with parking at the rear. Will make it one of my stop offs when traveling along the Fosse. Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Ver carta

I had an outstanding dining experience! The food was exceptional, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of. I had the best steak I've had in a long time! The cost per person was around £50–60. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all 5 out of 5. Highly recommend!

We went for Sunday lunch which I wouldn't do again as it was very busy and hence the service was slow, even though we pre-ordered. Food was decent but considerably overpriced and the Yorkshire pudding was far too overcooked for my liking. Kid-friendliness: Kids waited ages for their food and pub is noisy at Sunday lunch with little room to move, not recommended Price per person: £20–30 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Ver carta

The restaurant is situated in a beautiful Cotswold setting that's easy to locate using a sat nav. There's a wide variety of choices for Sunday lunch, including at least one vegetarian option. The cheese soufflé was delightful, and the Sunday roasts were very good; however, there could have been more vegetables served. The desserts were also delicious, and I particularly enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding. The service was friendly and prompt. I would definitely return.

Had Sunday lunch here with friends and had a fantastic time. The pub retains all its historical character in the most idyllic of village settings. I had venison which was absolutely delicious with a pint of Donnington Gold. Staff were impeccably attentive and friendly. I won’t hesitate to come back here, just wish my local pub was this good I’d be there every week!
