"Amazing food , fine dining , easy to find , glass of champagne was really lovely and despite being offered wine list before seeing the food choice , staff were helpful and attentive . Delectable canapés were served with drinks which were so flavoursome and then the amuse bouchée was a riot of flavour see photos for what they were we ate al la crate and the crab tarte and venison tartare were spot on . Mains of lamb medium and so tender and broccoli textures followed and were also high quality . Dessert was sublime choux pastry with peanut butter ice cream and carrot cake kind of deconstructed was followed by Egyptian mint tea and beautiful petit fours we were suitably stuffed and our waitress suggested we could take them home of this was the case ! For the food we ate , texture , quality , presentation this was fantastic and reasonably priced . My only gripe would be the music did not fit with the experience of the food playlist did not fit the ambiance."

"spicy garlauchbrot is incredible (full green chili) that was perfect for us the gamberoni fritti made us a perfect starter, but the manzo cacciatore was certainly not made with filet steak. it is always a shame when the quality of the ingredients. are not as described that this court was one of them. we had both the main dish manzo cacciarore fillet steak pieces, although very nice was not fillet steak pieces. I mention this because this was our only problem that I am a metzger that is all my life long, I know how I say, though very nice, it should be sold as it is. the service staff was very good in a very lively restaurant. I mentioned my problems to our young server, but no answer from the administration wanted to cause no scene."

"we were recently in cromford for a few days and went in the greyhound for a drink. really great place, we went in a few times with our puppy flo and the staff could not have been more helpful or more attentive. great atmosphere and friendly local, we were very welcome, although we were from outside the opposite. an extensive wine map and a selection of local ales that delights both my man and me, a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. would definitely come back and recommend others. thank you for having us"

"Went there for the first time and literally the food was below standers 0/10. Lamb was unbreakable. Even i called the manager to show that its not fresh he replied"you know their taste and stuff. Kebabs were smelly. Spent more than 80 pounds and left restaurant without a single apology. Avoid. "Me and the wife popped in on Friday lunch prior to booking into our hotel. We were so impressed that we paid another three visits over our weekend stay. The staff were fantastic and the food speaks for itself. There is a fantastic range of drinks to suit all tastes. I sampled The Assassins smile real ale quite a few times. For what we thought would be a light lunch, my wife decided to have the Real chips. Omg I have never seen chips so big . I had the Blackened Cajun chicken loaded fries and my compliments to the chef on how tasty it was and sorry that I could not finish it all. That was no reflection on the superb quality of the food but the size of the portion. The atmosphere of the place was great too and hard to tell the difference between locals and visitors. As dog lovers we loved the fact there were so many well behaved dogs coming in and out. Thankyou so much for the great times and food and service in our visits. We will recommend The Fishponds to anybody and it will be our first and favoured port of call the next time we come to stay. Stuart and Diane Brown."
