The pulled pork burger was absolutely delicious along with the chips. Really good food! Atmosphere was great, clearly well liked in the local area! As a first time visitor I would definitely go again

It was nice to go to a pub in a small town where the vegan options were more than just a bean burger. We both had the vegan pizza so i’m not too sure of how good the other vegan options are but we really loved the pizza. The pizza were two for £15 which is a really good deal. We came here with two meat eaters and they both really enjoyed their food as well.

Really nice pub! Came in a group of 13 and pleasantly surprised there were absolutely no mistakes. Great atmosphere, lovely drinks (recommend the sour cherry cider when it’s on), and fab food (had the Cajun sharing fries and dirty onion burger). Service was also really good with happy staff, thank you everyone working today! Boyfriend says best pub lunch he’s had in years!!

Pleasant pub, lots of different areas for seating. Food was pretty good, gammon was a bit over-cooked and dry but the burgers were excellent. The atmosphere was quiet and friendly until 'Drop the ego ' fired up at 21:00. The music was ok, but so loud any possibility of conversation disappeared, even at the other end of the pub! Shame as if they had turned it down a bit it would have been good.

Me and the wife popped in on Friday lunch prior to booking into our hotel. We were so impressed that we paid another three visits over our weekend stay. The staff were fantastic and the food speaks for itself. There is a fantastic range of drinks to suit all tastes. I sampled The Assassins smile real ale quite a few times. For what we thought would be a light lunch, my wife decided to have the Real chips. Omg I have never seen chips so big . I had the Blackened Cajun chicken loaded fries and my compliments to the chef on how tasty it was and sorry that I could not finish it all. That was no reflection on the superb quality of the food but the size of the portion. The atmosphere of the place...
