"My wife had been to tea and cake at the Grange before and found it excellent. We decided to pop in for lunch on the off chance. Booking is normally essential to ensure that you get in. The Grange is the restaurant and cafe arm of Hearing Dogs for the Deaf and fronts the Southern Training Centre located in Saunderton between West Wycombe and Princes Risborough. The menu is modest, offers vegetarian and vegan options. Ingredients are excellent and of the highest quality. I opted for the fish and chips (hake, beer batter, minted peas and chips with a tartare mayo lacked bite for my taste) and the other half had the tomato and basil soup). Both were excellent. Prices are very reasonable and, of course, the profits go to the charity. The restaurant is, unsurprisingly, deaf friendly with echo eliminating ceilings and sound absorbing floors. Modern buildings and very doggy friendly. Tours of the training centre with or without cream tea are available. The decor is “rustic” and is entirely in keeping with the surroundings."

"I'm a local but by no means a regular, I probably visit 5 or 6 times a year, but regardless the Wheatsheaf always makes you feel welcome. The staff are fantastic, the punters are friendly and the food is superb. During the summer the garden is perfect for when you've got friends/family visiting and on top of all that, the prices aren't bad either. Highly recommend. If I absolutely had to give one area of improvement, I'd say that sometimes the wait for food and service can be a little long if there is a lot of tables eating, but I'm really clutching at straws to think of a negative. Overall a really lovely place which I hope continues to operate for many years to come."

"We’ve visited the Royal Oak several times now and have always thoroughly enjoyed what we’ve had. I always insist on the pork belly starter because it’s so good. Recently we tried the crispy squid which comes with a lovely dip quite unlike anything you’ve had with squid before. The momo dumplings are lovely and definitely worth a try. Mains have always been fabulous too, my favourite being a prawn curry (King Prawn Tawa Masala) as I’m a big fan of masala sauces which aren’t too spicy. Also tried recently was the lamb shank which was delicious (and quite substantial). There’s only a small number of tables in one end of the pub but you can sit elsewhere to have food. It’s a really small place so best to book at busy times. Our most recent visit was a Saturday lunchtime which was quiet. The staff are all lovely, it can take a little while to get your food at busy times but not so long that it ruins the experience. It’s worth waiting for!"

"We've visited this restaurant several times, and the service is generally excellent when it comes to coffee. However, our recent brunch experience was quite disappointing. For starters, we weren't checked in upon arrival, which caused us to be blacklisted by Open Table. It took 30 minutes for our order to be served. I had ordered poached eggs with my breakfast, but I received fried eggs instead (which were eventually replaced). My wife ordered Eggs Royal, but the muffin was hard, and the poached eggs were overcooked—essentially boiled. While the staff were polite and attentive, the overall experience this time was lacking. We will likely give it another shot, as our past experiences with coffee and cake have been great. Perhaps it was just an off day, considering how busy the restaurant usually is. On a positive note, there are plenty of parking spaces available."

"We stopped for lunch at this restaurant during our circular walk in Princes Risborough on the Mayday Bank Holiday Monday. It's not a day that the restaurant usually serves food, so we were grateful for the 3 hot main options available on the menu that day. The setting was pleasant, with friendly staff and a nice community atmosphere. However, it seemed like the landlady was cooking alone and it took a while for all of us to be served. I chose the more expensive chilli con carne, which was tasty but the portion was smaller compared to the cheaper panini options. Despite this, the meal was still enjoyable and probably better for my high cholesterol issues."
