Freshly made food, impressed with the service. Would certainly go again

The Globe is situated on the Buttlands -the large green public area in Wells next the sea.

We had several allergies in our party, but the restaurant went out of their way to accommodate them all.

Our server, Maxence was excellent. He was funny, professional and funny. It was my Husband's birthday and it was a very pleasant evening. Thank you.

The service was very slow. Staff forgot part of our order. When it did arrive it was almost inedible. The staff asked how our meal was, but were defensive and unhelpful in response to a negative response. We would not recommend.

The food at this restaurant is very good, but on the pricey side. The drinks are also expensive. The wait for the wine was long, as it arrived after our appetizers, which was frustrating. There was also a service charge added to the bill. The staff was very friendly, however. Overall, the food was delicious.

This lovely pub has a charming atmosphere and offers excellent, friendly service. The food is well presented and delicious, although the burger being served on a narrow board was a bit annoying. However, the staff quickly replaced it with a plate when we asked. They have a great selection of wines and are very dog-friendly. Overall, it was a wonderful evening.

Slow start, but good food. 45 mins for my cold crab starter to arrive, was disappointing. However, the waiting staff dealt with the issue and my main followed in a timely manner. All of the food was delicious. I had the roast pork dinner, however I had an entire carrot and only 3/4 of a potato, so the portions were not right IMHO. There were two new chefs in the kitchen, so perhaps teething problems. The swift and satisfactory resolution of the issue, quality of food and the general ambience made up for the long wait.

This visit was a bit disappointing. When we arrived we followed signs to reception and then stood waiting for a long time while the receptionist dealt with customers on the telephone. She could have paused for a second to help us but she didn't engage at all. We then found our way to the bar where a cheeky but efficient front of house chap seated us at a cosy table. The problem with a cosy table, out of line of sight, is that you get forgotten, which we did. We went up to the bar to order. The main courses came and were delicious. We ordered pudding but it was forgotten so we again got up to find someone and ask about it after which it arrived quickly so that was good. All in all it was a bi...
