Great food and wine, staff very friendly polite and welcoming, lovely homely atmosphere with the real fire, would definitely recommend and will be visiting again

I had a lovely evening catching up with my two sisters in this lovely pub. The food was delicious. The staff were lovely and efficient. We will definitely return.

Had a salad but half the ingredients were missing. Very expensive bowl of lettuce. Unfortunately I didn't realise until I got home and checked online that I was missing most of the ingredients listed on the menu. Very disappointing

My wife and I recently went to this restaurant for dinner and it was fantastic! It was the best meal we've had in a long time. We both had the Sunday dinner and the service was excellent. The setting of the restaurant was great as well. I highly recommend it.

I may be biased as it is my local but have to say lunch today was exceptional. Food and service excellent, and such good value. So fortunate to have this place in the village. I had the fish cake, meat and potato pie and jam coconut sponge with custard, straight forward delicious pub grub done perfectly. Ver carta

We went into the Golden Lion for a sunday platter , came in late and staff managed to squeeze us in! There were plenty of people coming in and out proving how well liked it is! Food was exceptional as well as the service. Will definitely be coming back in on a sunday and in the week! Great staff, food and atmosphere, what else could you ask for! Definitely recommend coming to the Golden Lion!

First time visiting and I was very impressed with the service, food and atmosphere of the pub. It's got a lovely ambience, like a home from home feel. All the staff we spoke with were all very welcoming, polite, and friendly. The food was delicious (I had the skin on chicken dish I would highly recommend this me and my friends will certainly visit again. Thank you for a wonderful evening! 10/10

I booked here after seeing a picture of the roast dinner sharing platter on someone’s instagram story, and had my heart set on it. I was not disappointed, nor was my partner! The amount of food you get on it especially the meat is well worth the price! (Which in my opinion is actually worth more than what you charge! and every single thing was delicious! Only niggle was tiny bit of mash but that’s because i LOVE mash but if im honest i definitely did not need any more food! . It was a busy little cosy pub! The service was spot on very friendly and attentive staff. I have been recommend this place to EVERYONE. We will be back we have decided its going to be at least a monthly visit! Thank you Ver carta
