The Griffin Inn At Eccleston

this is a great foundation after a renovation last year. excellent quality of the dining and beautiful dining room. I thought it was a bit overpriced, but would definitely visit again.

Second visit this year and yet again was charged for both food and drink we had not had. Please if going check your receipt before paying. Food average but service poor. Second time this year but will not be going again

We have visited this restaurant four times since the new Manager and Head Chef joined the team and introduced a new menu. During our latest visit, I started with the Queen Scallops, which were cooked perfectly and incredibly juicy. Ver carta

Popped in for some drinks and some drinks in the evening on a Saturday, there was also a live singer on which was really good! It was busy but the bar staff were really quick and friendly we will definitely be coming back on a Saturday again

First visit, looks gorgeous on the outside and clean inside but won't go again. Overcharged for items, food just overpriced pub food, staff unhelpful and unprofessional. Had issues with a rude staff member and spoke with the so called manager who was not interested at all, didn't ask who the member of staff was so obviously this happens a lot.

My family and friends visited The Griffin on a Friday evening, and it turned out to be an great night. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the lovely Izzy, whose warmth and hospitality set the tone for the entire evening. Izzy's exceptional service truly made our night. She went above and beyond to ensure that nothing was too much trouble. Her friendly and welcoming demeanor added a special touch to our night. The food was great and to top it all off, the entertainment was a brilliant and made the night even more enjoyable. We went to the griffin for my birthday meal which i might add everytime we have been there before was amazing but tonight well i dont know where to start! I had steak which i always do the mushroom was greasy, vine tomatoes where basically had lack of oxygen my shallot was half dead... fish batter was very wet n could taste grease... chips do not get me started on them first batch was burnt when they changed them the 2nd batch was raw... nicest part of the meal was onion rings.... our waiter didnt catch his name was a lovely young lad who tried his best even sung happy birthday to me when he brought my cake out which we purchased elsewhere. Food nice . Staff very rude and dismissive, including the shift leader . Tried to charge us for 2 pints of lager we didn’t order … 20. Overcharged us for our meals by 10 also . When we queried this the staff eventually rectified it then hovered over table for payment of correct bill . Politely asked them to give us 5 mins to check bill . They didn’t return so my friend went to bar to pay . My friend told the waitress she had waited for her to return to our table to pay the bill but found it easier and quicker to pay at the bar . Visited this evening (5.30pm) for a meal. As soon as we arrived we were told they would need table back for 7.00pm as quiz is on. We said that’s ok as we’re just having one course. I had family visiting from Canada and Ireland and wanted to take them to a nice English pub for dinner. We were sat in a tiny cubby at a table at back entrance. With two men sitting at table beside us who we didn’t know, for such a small compact space…it was a bit odd to sit two separate parties in this one little space which only has two tables.
