"We went here as an extended family of 5 as it was a favourite place from my dad. The food was average and what was more disappointing was the £75+ bill for 5 people which included 2 from our party having only cheesy chips. What made it worse is when we were told the coke machines were not working and that they only had bottles as an option, we were happy with this as a replacement until we were faced with the bill of £4 per bottle, I asked why these where this price as the bottles were on the take away menu at £2 and I was told it was a service charge £2 service charge for carrying a bottle to a table is disgusting). Lovely place however this is shocking and we won’t go back."

"Oh dear, war time rations are alive and well with the portions here but the price wasn 't, my wife and I firstly ordered a prawn dish ,which was listed on the menu , but they ran out yesterday , so we then ordered two scampi with salad and fries, the little teenager who took our order said do we want the starter version of this dish or the larger meal version, we opted for the larger version, eventually the bored teenager arrived with the starter version there were 7 piecesof small scampi, about half a handful of skinny fries, we were hungry so we had it as we were in a rush at this stage, thinking the bored teenager wrote the starter version down , my wife went up to pay for the dismal meal to be charged 18 pounds each for the 2 starter sized meals , I never complain about something unless it really gets to me , but this did , next time we shall go to the schoolhouse up the other side of the village, we are local to the area and I 'm afraid that we won 't be back , it 's a pity because it 's a lovely setting to pull up on our motorcycle and people watch and relax , I had kidney stones removed 2 weeks before, and I 'd sooner put up with the pain of that compared to visiting this graveyard of a place again, goodbye"

"I have never left a negative review in my life and I do realize that this is not a Michelin starred Bistro, but dear me, I also think that you can expect some sort of standard when you go out to eat. We went with family on Wake the Giant Weekend . Particularly the best time to visit Warrenpoint and County Down in general. We came to this Hotel recommended by friends. We are from Scotland . It was a two day trip , we stayed at Killeavy Castle . However decided to eat here on Saturday night . But , Unfortunately, the standard at this restaurant was very poor. Where do I start? Having entered the restaurant, we had to wait for several minutes to be greeted, and had to wait 25 mins to be seated for a table we booked a day in advance . It was nearly half an hour over our reservation time , when finally a Blonde Woman managing the diary at the door said that our table is now ready. She greeted us with a fake smile as if she was already pissed off on us coming to the Restaurant. She took us to our table, which was a very small square thing, with not much space for anything, and only about 20 cm away from another table, so actually we might as well join the tables together if we go next time i don 't think so ! . The menu cards ABSOLUTELY disgusting, covered in oil and all sorts of food gravy or residue. We ordered our drinks, and soon enough the 'over enthusiastic ' waitress came back to us saying there will be a 20 min wait on a cocktail would you mind ordering something else instead. The garlic mushrooms I had as my starter, was nothing more than over cooked and almost burnt Tesco 's value garlic mushrooms which cost me nearly a £7.00 ... We ordered our mains and ta dah! six minutes later ?! they arrived. Surprisingly such quick instant service, as if they were sitting at the pass for us to finish our starters . We had fillet steaks which was drenched in OIL, seriosuly, that was almost Steaks in OIL sauce, it was some sort of tepid liquid with an ich layer of oil. When my husband asked for some French Dijon Mustard a surprised waiter pointed out that he was getting drinks for another table so please ask someone else. There was no salt on the table at all and you had to try your hardest to attract someone 's attention to get a bit of salt, which took a while, mu husband had to ask the couple sitting next to us. Honestly, the best bit of food we had there, was the pepper sauce!!!! Honestly, I never complain in a restaurant, because I used to work as a waitress myself, so I know what it’s like sometimes. But Jesus, if you charge people an extortionate amount of money, you must give something back and appreciate the paying customers. The whole thing was a bit like a fast food restaurant focused on quantity of people they serve rather than quality Im afraid. They were more focused on the number of customer they can serve than quality of food . The entire time I was sat inches from the young couple and could hear their entire conversation. I strongly suggest to have less tables there, and give people a bit of privacy when eating and talking and trying to enjoy a meal out. Please focus on quality of food you guys are serving than building up the huge numbers . I will never go there again !!! Don 't be fooled by the photos and publicity. This place is nothing but a hyped up restaurant and the service was very poor. Should have got a takeaway pizza instead ."

"The Diamonds has long been a favorite of mine, and I recently sought a place for a family meal with 20 guests, half of whom were locals and half from Dublin. The Dublin guests were absolutely thrilled with the food, declaring it amazing, and they thought the desserts were worth the drive alone! The Diamonds also offered me the option to select a specific menu for our gathering. We celebrated two birthdays, and I was touched that the restaurant provided cards and boxes of chocolates for the birthday honorees. It was a lovely gesture. I will definitely continue to be a regular customer, and I've no doubt they have gained some new fans as well!"
