"Right where should I start. So we were given a living social voucher as a gift, I don't usually expect much from these vouchers and our expectations are not high plus we aren't fussy eaters, but it clearly states on the voucher that we could pick starter up to £6.50 and main up to £16 from the a la cartè menu, sat down and was given a very limited menu, when I queried this, the waiter did go and ask his manager and the answer was just no it was only the menu we were given that we were allowed to choose from which clearly isn't the a la cartè. Usually in advance before dining somewhere I like to look at the menu online so I know roughly what I would like but due to the limited choice in starters i ask if it was possible if we can swap it for a dessert instead which resulted was another trip to the manager again for his approval. For mains we had sirloin steak with chips and pepper sauce, this was the most blandness steak I ever had in a restaurant, usually the pepper sauce helps but that was tasteless too, ended up adding loads of pepper and salt on both for some flavour, now the only good thing about the steak that it was cooked to doneness I requested for. Our friends who gave us the voucher said it was nice but it was pretty disappointing to be honest, we weren't impressed at all with the food. Service was good though the guys were polite and friendly."

The food was average but the service a little below average. They forgot one person's starter with no apologies.

We ate here as part of a deal with Malone Lodge and would not have felt short changed if we had paid what we paid for food and lodging just for the food. Everything about the meal the options, the service and the food itself was simply first class. Recommended without reservation.

I chose to eat here because it was attached to the hotel I was staying at. Being on my own it was nice to be welcomed warmly and given a choice of tables to pick from. I chose the house burger and asked for the honey roast carrots in pesto instead of chips not a problem. For dessert I had the hazelnut praline and chocolate ice cream. Both were lovely, freshly cooked and served by a friendly waiter. Pleased I chose this place to eat. Very reasonably priced too came to just under £25 for main, dessert and pint of Guiness.

In Northern Ireland, a steak dinner typifies a meal out. Despite this, a nicely cooked one can be a rare thing. After hearing a few recommendations we decided to try our luck at Knife and Fork. The crab starter wasn't the usual dollop of mayonnaise with crab hidden in it. Both brown and white crab. Nice fresh toasted bread. Crisp apple set it off beautifully. The steak was tremendous. The artistic presentation wasn't wasted on it. Beautifully cooked and tender. Every bite was delicious. After the meal, we left the confines of the classy restaurant and sank into one of the many comfortable sofas in the lobby to enjoy after dinner drinks. The service provided by Seamus et al. was excellent. Wil...

U having a laugh right??? Another meal was sirloin steak believe me u get nothing for £25 with that price u expect more on the plate nothing special for a £25 steak child’s chicken Goujons was overly cooked although they weren’t homemade they were from frozen packet i can see that and the waiter was serving food over my head despite serving from side of the table where is more room and would’ve been comfortable for me. Overall VERY DISAPPOINTED trust...

The highlight of our Belfast stay was enjoying dinner at the Malone Lodge's restaurant, The Knife Fork, and terrific conversation with our servers Paul and Danny. The meal was exceptional, and we will all remember the shared laughter and genuine connection that we felt with Paul and Danny. Less than 12 hours into our stay in Ireland, these two took time in the afternoon to chat with us about more than just our planned travels. Hockey, university, even America's often-amusing current political situation were all covered before Paul and Danny sent us off with pre-dinner pub recommendations. Later, we were greeted with smiles and a wave when we returned to the hotel to end our evening with a lo...

"enjoyed our evening in james st it was the best culinary experience of our trip! we had been happy to see this evening as we had a few hit-N-seals in the course of our trip to belfast. we were not disappointed and had the fabulous evening. we were quickly welcomed and sitting. the place is beautiful and spacious. revitalized and environment. the bar is great and would like to come back, only for drinks at the bar sometime. we ordered cocktails immediately. an Irish gin negroni and a traditional old fashion. my neger was absolutely excellent. I think the old fashion could have been done with real sugar cubes and not sugar syrup, but it wasn't too bad. we were quick to choose our wein. we chose a beautiful juicy red, the cline, the old vine zinfandel, 2019. to begin we had the ham hock terrine with piccalilli champ bread and some scallops with boar bell. the hanging-hock court was the best ham-hock I had. the homemade piccalilli was something else. really nice crispy and sharp sharp to help cut through the hammock and the champbrot was delicious crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. the scallops and black bells were disappointing, as they lacked no salt or genuine aroma or texture between them. we still ate it and shared the rest of my hammock. we both decided to go for the co. tyrone 270g fillet steak with sides of champ and truffle parmesan chips. red wine and pfeffer sauce. they were fantastic steaks. Actually, I didn't think I would finish mine, but I did. I have met the right choice with the jus and the truffle chips. they went so well together, the dryness of the parmesan and sweet, slightly greasy of the jus. the steaks were perfectly cooked. a medium and my medium rare. fantastic aroma on the grilled outside of the steak and beautiful texture when they pierce. we both agreed that the champ was the best champ we ever cost. it was hot, soft, so well aromatized with hot butter on the top of the copper serving pot melt. it was really the most incredible champ. I was too full of dessert. but my sample ordered the sticky toffee pudding sundae. the team was friendly enough to make me an espresso martini that was both decaf and not a sugar syrup. it was brilliant. we both managed to work our way, although a surprisingly light sticky toast desserts on Sunday. the team was fantastic. very friendly and chatting to us. the bar team did not stop, I had the pleasure of standing and watching them make a great selection of drinks and cocktails. the waiting staff were also very friendly when they check in with us at comfortable places to ensure that we were in order. we felt very well looked around. the service was very good, we didn't feel any hurry, it felt like such a free time in this restaurant. when we come back to belfast, we will be back in absolute terms and we will definitely recommend others. Thank you."
