"My partner, my dog, and I stopped at The Lighthouse for lunch after a long walk to Hurst Castle and back. We had several options to choose from, but we decided on the vegan chocolate milkshake and the vegan fish finger sub with coleslaw and tartare sauce. The service was incredibly quick and we were impressed by the generous portion size of our meal. We were not expecting such a large serving, especially being in a prime location in the New Forest. The sub sandwich was massive and the banana blossom fish had a delicious batter that was not greasy, with a texture similar to real fish. However, there was no "fishy" smell or taste, so you may be disappointed if that is what you are expecting. The staff were lovely, the atmosphere was relaxing, and even our dog was at ease. We left with full stomachs and happy memories."

Good range of vegan options. They seem to change menu regularly and the staff know what they are talking about.

The staff at this restaurant are lovely and very knowledgeable. They have all allergens marked on the menu, and offer a wide variety of choices for starters, mains, and desserts.

Brilliant beach side restaurant. The vegan fish and chips with tartare sauce was amazing. Could only have been bettered with mushy peas. Loads of options. Friendly staff and good music

beautiful few options for vegan! I had the vegan fish and chips and unfortunately I did not find a fan of banana blossom, but the dough, chips, vegan tartaric acid sauce and dessert were delicious. the personal was beautiful and drinks were also great!

The main menu offers at least 3 vegan options. I tried the “fish” and chips made from banana flowers and absolutely loved it. The portions were healthy and the presentation was great. The menu also has a wide variety of vegan options, including desserts.

The restaurant offered a limited selection of vegan dishes on the menu, such as vegan breakfast, fish and chips, paella, and burger. Additionally, they had vegan desserts like a sunflower cake, churros, and ice cream. The food was well-prepared and the staff was friendly and attentive.

The restaurant offers a beautiful selection of vegan dishes. I tried the banana blossom fish and chips, which was good, but could have used some Nori seasoning or a similar flavor to prevent it from being bland without the sauce. I was impressed with the vegan desserts, particularly the churros with chocolate sauce or the sunflower-shaped biscuit. It was a nice surprise to have a variety of sorbets available as well. The location of the restaurant directly by the sea creates a beautiful ambiance both inside and out.

Beautiful restaurant. Really lovely setting/location. Very classy decor. Perfect for a last night meal. The food itself was nice, albeit a little pricey for what it was. We had the Hummus Sharer, and Vegan Fish Chips. The sharer was lovely, but small for £8. The Vegan Fish Chips were made from banana blossom, with chunky chips, peas and tartare sauce. They were nice, but not wrapped in Nori/marinated in nori, and didn’t taste fishy Essentially, just battered banana blossom. But for some, this may be perfect as not every vegan wants the taste of fish. The drinks were lovely, although I couldn’t see if they had any plant based milks available. There were a good few vegan food options available...

"I visited here last week as a birthday present and wow, what an amazing place. It was run by a very small team but it worked perfectly. The decor was simple but equally very stylish, without looking flash or poncy, and the David White painting on the wall of the Great white shark that sparkled in the light was absolutely amazing (I really want one) We both had the tasting menu and I had the wine pairing too, for an extra £35, it was an absolute bargain and I would highly recommend. The food was superb, we had no idea what we would be getting as the menu changes seasonally but they double checked if there was anything we didn't like before starting the courses and then we were off. We've eaten in quite a few michellin star restaurants now and there's usually always one dish that one of us isn't keen on, not this time. Genuinely cannot fault the food one bit, some of the dishes/drinks played tricks with your senses too, I really enjoyed the sherbert fountain with liquorice ice cream. Had a good chat with David and the team and we both loved the ethos and style of the restaurant. There wasn't an ounce of snobbishness here, you could wear shorts and a T-Shirt and feel comfortable, equally, you could get dressed up and also not feel over dressed due to the superb way in which they've styled the place. Would I recommend this place to friends, 100%. Would I visit again, absolutely, we are planning to go back later in the year. I would also highly recommend buying the cook book, it's one of the best books we have at home and gives you some great starting blocks to create your own dishes. Keep up the great work team"
