London Inn - Carta

Nice pub but be cautious of meal prices. Fish and chips BUT can you find the fish in the batter? No sorry came. Very disappointed.

This place never fails good food good service lovely staff. Great ambience cosy filled with people enjoying themselves I would definatly recommend

Most amazing Sunday roast my better 1/2 had the meat trio and I had mushroom nut roast all beautifully cooked and both full of flavour definitely one of the best!! Staff were very welcoming and attentive would definitely come again Ver carta

our second visit this evening within 7 days. here with friends Thursday last and tonight for the new Monday specials menu. pub and nice, cellar and menu frsh and excellent. nice to see that the pub is busy in both nights for eating and drinking. tonight specials. the first of them, saw the post on fb online booked via the link. all excellent, long, they can whisper!

our Sunday dinner was of the highest quality all meat and veg was perfectly cooked, it was the best I would ever recommend for everyone also the service of the young lady waiter was also nice, she was very nice and if...when in as we did not have a table, the bar staff was very helpful and found us a table so very happy she did because it was so lavish. we are celebrating for a week and we will definitely come back to try something else of the menu in this week

Went with friends on the basis of a recommendation. Good ales, good food good company? What was not to like ... much of the food was cold. I can only assume that the plates were left standing for while in the kitchen awaiting the...rest of the dish. The sausages were burnt. The Choclate Brownies were the best I have ever had but the rest of us thought our desserts were tasteless. Overall, a disappointment but a nice pint (or three) of Jail Ale made the evening bearable! Well done London inn team ! The new menu is a great success..good interesting dishes and pub favourites too. We had the steak and frites with a peppercorn sauce...as good, if not better than in France..also stroganoff was good too..sea bass looked interesting..will try that...next time. Everyone eating in the pub seemed to be really enjoying their food...a huge/highly stacked burger was delivered to a nearby table ...one for the very hungry or indeed greedy ! So..good news for Shaldon !

Really disappointing; unfriendly, indifferent and grudging service. Popped in with my elderly parents for a drink and was met with unsmiling staff: a youngster on her phone for much of the time and other member of staff who seemed like she’d really rather we hadn’t...darkened her doors. Asked for a whisky and ginger wine and was told, with tangible disdain, that they didn’t have ginger wine. We pointed it out on the shelf in good humour, and were then served one without humour or apology. Quite bizarre. Pub lacked atmosphere though warm service would have more than compensated, but alas not on this night.

we have just enjoyed an amazing week in shaldon and a wonderful part of our break was the local pub, the london inn, on which green found in the heart of the village. the food, the hospitality of the friendly owners and the entire customer. service was absolutely excellent and the pub itself has a beautiful mood and great atmosphere to enjoy fantastic restaurants or just a few drinks. we celebrated a meilenstein birthday during our stay and to mark this occasion, we enjoyed the newly introduced special on the menu that was the tomahawk steak, which is quite spectacular. this pub is a real gem and certainly one to visit when they are on vacation.
