"their rating of gastrohub. I first came over this pub when I came in the new forest with my dear wife and our little hairy friend wookie. I was looking for a good pub to eat at lunch, which was friendly in the way of dogs. the affenhaus was one of the first to show up, and it came highly recommended by several reviews I found. that sounded very like a job for gastrohub. the affenhaus originates from the wood branch of the kneipenart. so I mean, there are lots of wood. floors, tables, bar etc. it felt immediately inviting, which was only sharpened by the beautiful greeting we received from the personal. it became very quickly clear that dogs here are not only allowed, they are loved and appreciated, which makes the whole experience much more relaxed for dog owners. rachel had recently vegetarian, so it was good to see several interesting non-meat options on the menu. she chose the sweet potato and cocosnut cure. I went with a sharp chicken burger. the pub is a free house, led by a family, and during our visit we met several of them. they were all very friendly, some even give tasty things to do wookie, who quickly decided that this was their favorite pub. the food didn't take too long to arrive, and when it was, we were soon glad we had come. rachels curry was delicious and my burger was a real burger. a good piece of real chicken, not a bought in baked chicken breast. the chips were good, the tear was good, everything was good. when we had been plucked to the end of our meal, we were both satisfied and pleased to have found such a wonderful new pub for our traveling to the new forest. I have never experienced friendly people working in a pub, and for that the affenhaus must be congratulated and applauded. it is often not until they have experienced such warmth and enthusiasm that they realize how much difference it can make at their time in a pub whether they eat or drink. there is a good menu and a good cook that puts the food together. there is everything to like about this pub, and we will certainly be for more."
