"We went there as a group of 4 visiting the area for work. The food here is fantastic we had a burger from the specials board, 2 steaks and a steak pie. The portions are huge so go hungry but everything is home cooked and tastes amazing there wasn’t one thing we didn’t like and with one steak rare and the over well done they came at the same time perfectly cooked. We managed to fit in deserts and these too were beautiful. The staff (owner and waitress) were warm, friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be returning."

I spent an afternoon in the miners eating and drinking. There’s a good selection of beer and a great menu. The food was lovely and very reasonable price

The pub was really well decorated, the food was quite wonderful but a little on the small side. However, the Sunday roast was tasty to say the least. The local customers were friendly too.

Called out of curiosity, and the need for a drink on a hot day. We ordered lunch fish and chips. The fish was huge! Staff are friendly, and helpful. The place is well set out, much bigger I side than you imagine with a function room just off the bar and a pleasant area outside with tables with umbrella's and plenty of seating.

Absolutely fabulous pub. We had Sunday lunch which was hand carved carvery, all fresh veg.... superb. We sat both inside in the gorgeous garden. The owners staff were so friendly. It's spotlessly clean. We will definitely return. What a great find! Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Sunday Roast

I had an amazing roast dinner today. The flavors, quality, and price were all exceptional. I will definitely be returning. The choices of roast beef, turkey, or ham, along with crispy roast potatoes, creamy mashed potatoes, carrots, cauliflower cheese, broccoli, cabbage, and Yorkshire pudding were all delicious. For dessert, I had the rhubarb crumble while my daughter enjoyed the chocolate fudge cake, both of which were delightful. Overall, it was a fantastic meal.

Well here again at the miners arms for the umpteenth time. Great home made food at good prices good real ale and very friendly staff. Stuart Lyn run a fantastic down to earth pub which are very hard to find these days. Also Lyn makes great pork pies at £1:50. I would have given the ratings 10 if I could. Anyone visiting or passing through call in you will not be disappointed. And you will definitely be back. Mick h Preston (Longlands caravan Park) Ps Lyn can you make any beef pies x

"Staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient. They were also very kind to our dog. We had drinks and food and though the drinks were good, the food was not. The words 'frozen ' and 'microwave ' were forefront in my mind throughout. The mash potato I had with my pie was face meltingly hot suggesting the microwave was used, and my wife 's battered fish was mushy and watery suggesting it was deep fried from frozen. The batter was also only about 1mm thick and was like wise mushy. The meat in my chunky steak pie was definatly chunky but was a little too firm (not tough, just not tender. Probably the wrong cut of meat rather than badly cooked). I then had the caramel apple pie as did another member of my party. While his was hot, mine was cold. I had mine with cream which when it arrived, had bubbles in and was luke warm. What I think happened was that mine was microwaved first and then drowned in cream and left to sit while the other was microwaved. This mean mine cooled in the cream while the cream warmed. It also meant that the pastry on the bottom went soggy, and from the rest of the pastry, it didn 't seem like it had much crisp to begin with. Now I know that times are hard and pubs like this can 't be expected to make everything from scratch, but there are 3 other pubs close by and unfortunately this one is doing nothing to stand out from the others, in terms of food anyway. Overall, a nice place for a quiet drink, but I 'll not be back for the food. The only saving grace was the price; £80 for 2 rounds of drinks (1 pint, 1 coke and 2 halves per round), 4 mains and 2 desserts...I suppose you get that you pay for though..."
