"Called in for lunch, surprised to see that we were the ONLY people there. Maybe a sign. Just wanted a light lunch and ordered the chilli which was advertised on the bar as a special £7.90. But soon found out, after ordering etc, that the chilli was now a main course £12.90 but for lunch? Accept that we may have misunderstood. Should have stopped there but carried on so lunch for two with a bowl of chilli (definitely, definitely not a main course portion! and a shandy and orange juice £41.00! Unbelievable. Not only that, and maybe more to the point, the special Chilli was not very Chilli like, more a tomato and mince serving with little spices and very few kidney beans. Definitely not that hot mouth warming feel you get from a good Chilli. And nicely decorated with a mountain of very cheap Doritos. So, understand that prices have gone up but £41.00 for 2 x smallish bowl chilli and a couple of drinks! We now know why the pub was empty (admittedly on a Thursday. But we won't be back. Hope for the locals it survives but do have to doubt it."

I visited this restaurant for a drink of Coca-Cola and a plate of fries during a bike ride around the neighborhood. The atmosphere was friendly and the service was excellent. It had a genuine local vibe.

Visited for lunch as part of a country walk with a group of friends and we were very impressed with the quality of the food and the friendly and attentive service. This is a lovely pub with a great beer garden in a pretty and peaceful setting.

We have just been to the New Inn Wymington. My husband had a steak pie which he said was very nice. I had fish and chips. Very disappointed at the quality of the fish. Definitely not cod or haddock. However we didn't complain so not much we can do about it but for £16.90 it was excessive in our opinion. Beware.!

Upon entering the restaurant, the atmosphere was inviting and we were warmly greeted. The waiter was fantastic - friendly and pleasant. The food was absolutely amazing - you have to try it for yourself. The restaurant was clean, the music was just right for the ambiance. Stop reading this review and go experience it for yourself. My family and I visited the restaurant today with our parents and tried the Christmas party menu. All I can say is wow! It was the best Christmas lunch we have ever had. We all ordered different items from the menu and were all impressed. We have been here a few times before for Sunday lunch, which was also delicious. We will definitely be returning in the New Year. We feel fortunate to have such a lovely pub within walking distance of our home.

my friend and I had been out walking and were very hungry upon arrival. We both ordered the steak and ale pie with chips and peas. long story short...it was an extremely small portion. It looked like a starter. I think both our plates shared one potato. the peas came in a tiny pot. The pie was ok, but again..very small. At just under £16 each we both expected more. The cost of living crisis etc affects us all, but potatoes and peas aren't expensive. It wouldn't have hurt to put a few more on the plate. Bottom line...we won't be back. I was asked upon leaving if everything was ok...I told the barman that we were disappointed with the volume of food...he just laughed at us. Ver carta

We visited as a family for sunday lunch today and could not have been happier with out decision. We shared a couple of starters, then all opted for the roast dinner. Chicken, lamb and beef were all beautiful, the veg was cooked perfectly (a simple thing so many other places fail to achieve). A side of Cauliflower Cheese added another element of great flavour. Sticky toffee pudding and a serving of White Chocolate and Raspberry cheesecake finished off an amazing meal. Everything tasted amazing, was well cooked/baked and presented beautifully. The pub itself was spotless. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. A real gem of a pub, serving home cooked meals in a great environment. This was...

Booked literally at the last minute so we surprised to get a table. Was busy but not all crammed in The menu was great, so much to choose from and many items with a little twist not the same old pub grub. We all chose roast with three meats. The cauliflower cheese was superb (served as an extra portion for two but as it was only me wanting it, the gentleman served me a half sized portion at half the cost). The veg had some sort of buttery coating…delicious I had brixworth pate with bread and apple and other half had home made fried dumplings for starters, as I say, unusual items on menu but really good. Lovely big garden to sit out in the summer but we stayed indoors today as a bit cold. Nic...

"Reminiscing about the great time we had at this place last night! We spent the weekend in Bedford visiting relatives and decided to book this place, because we’re big pizza fiends and the reviews meant it made sense! Have not stopped thinking about the food all day! If you’re lucky enough to know what a proper Neapolitan pizza tastes like and have been chasing the dream of tasting it again… look no further! If you haven’t been to Naples before, then this place takes you there and back in one evening! This is hands down the best pizza outside of Naples! In fact I would go as far as to say that it could easily hold its own amongst the 100s of pizzerias in its birth City! The restaurant itself is casually quirky… named after the owner’s mother, with photos to couple that offer a little glimpse into the owners background with Italian memorabilia for days… including a real vesper hanging on a shelf from the ceiling, you’re hit with the scent of the wood fired oven as soon as you walk through the doors letting you know instantly that you’re in for a treat… the real deal! The relaxed, but upbeat vibe coupled with the warm and attentive welcome and service from the owner and the staff meant it was only fair to start with a round of Aperol Spritzes, which was followed by a number of bottles of delicious Primitivo throughout the meal that ultimately led to some singing and dancing at the end of our meal! We allowed the owner to recommend lots of things off the menu to share and boy did he not disappoint! Everything from pizzas, to pizza rolls to bruschetta meant that we were all able to try the classic Neapolitan pizza base with various different flavours! Highly recommend trying the Pizza Tartufo if you like truffle! I’m Italian and visit Naples most years and the pizza base is up there with the best I’ve tried! Hats off to the pizzaiolas as mastering this culinary delight is not easy! The pork meatballs in tomato sauce and oven roasted cracked pepper and salty ribs were delicious! But aside from the extremely high quality of the pizzas it was a bowl full of cheese and charcuterie that stole the show! Imagine a huge ball of creamy burrata that when cut open released loads of tiny balls of morzarella! It was truly next level! I have never seen or tasted anything quite like it! We finished with a round of espressos and some traditional Italian pastries, which were out of this world! We had such a lovely evening from the food to the wine, service to the vibe it really was exceptional! The only thing I wasn’t happy about was leaving, knowing that this restaurant isn’t on my doorstep! The only saving grace is the avoided damage it would do to my waistline if it was, as I would be here every weekend! Cannot wait to go back!"
