"My husband and I had a lovely meal here on a Saturday night. Both the starters and mains arrived hot and were tasty. The green back dining room has a nice feel to it. The servers were are friendly.I must address something that we witnessed multiple times and that was servers carrying clean glasses by the rim and not the base or stems. We even saw a young man carry a bottle and tumbler full of ice with his fingers pinched on the lip of a glass that he delived to a waiting patron. This is unhygienic."

"At £105 per person, one would expect a high-quality, delicious, and professionally-served meal at Eshott Hall. However, during last year's Christmas Day lunch on 25/12/19, this was not the case. Despite the high price and promises of a warm room with a fireplace and champagne before lunch, our experience was disappointing. We were seated in a side room without Christmas decorations, tables with cloths, or enough chairs. The food was subpar, with dry turkey and frozen vegetables. Desserts were store-bought, and condiments were missing. The wine service was disorganized and the staff were unattentive. Coffee and petite fours were not served as promised. Overall, our experience at Eshott Hall was a disgrace, and we were not satisfied with the poor quality and service. Many other guests also expressed dissatisfaction, and attempts to address the issues with management were unsuccessful. We advise others to be aware of the low standards at this establishment during the holiday season."

"Sadly not the best experience here. I asked for a mocktail and was met with a blank face after waiting a lot time to get served for drinks. Our table was late and our meal came out incorrect after specific requests for meat to be cooked through (pregnant woman) and had to be sent back. This meant we couldn’t eat together. No apology from the chef or management and no reflection of this in the bill. Not currently worth the hefty price tag to eat there sadly. Disappointed and won’t be back in a hurry."

"We called in on our journey south from Scotland to Yorkshire the Sunday after new year, around 2pm lunch time on the off chance having no idea what to expect. Most places nearby were still shut. It was advertised on the web as open, where as many said they were but actually weren't and on arriving we found this to be true and very busy. We had no booking it was purely a drop in. We were greeted by welcoming staff and although busy they found us a table immediately, and explained how the carvery worked. The food was hot, fresh,and extremely delicious and there was no shortage of meat or veg. They replenished the veg and gravy regularly ensuring a freshly cooked choice was always available and we were only there for an hour. The staff were friendly efficient. it thoroughly enjoyed the meal and experience and will definitely be dropping in again when we go past another time."

"Upon arriving punctually, it appeared that the restaurant was unaware of our reservation, a fact that one of the staff later acknowledged. Despite this oversight, we were able to choose from the full menu, and we were also offered the Express menu. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Our only complaint was that we seemed to be seated quite close to the kitchen. Unfortunately, the noise was quite disruptive, as we could hear the staff shouting to each other and the music playing. Overall, we would be inclined to return, but we would likely request a table in the main dining area rather than in the corridor connecting the restaurant to the bar."
