"What an absolutely golden gem of an old century inn absolutely fell in love with our Easter weekend stay there everyone we saw were warm and welcoming from the owner staff and locals the room we stayed in was the dragonfly it was beautifully...decorated and the little touches like a mini fridge with a small jug of milk in and complimentary drink selection were lovely and dotted around the inn were jars of mini chocolates and shelves of books for you find interesting to read if you want to cosy up the old fire places with throws over the sofas or a leisurely walk in the path ways through fields of grazing sheep everyone we met during our stay was more than happy to give us info about walks and interesting places to visit it is steeped in history and added to the pleasure of our stay last but not least we stayed based on bed and breakfast and where to start we were looking forward to this and it didn’t disappoint there was such a lovely choice of cereals fresh fruit and jams fresh percolated coffee pots of tea dried fruits and cooked breakfasts which were freshly prepared hot and delicious in a room which over looked the old Norman church we found our stay to be honestly the best we have ever had and will be booking another stay there when ever we visit Ipplepen lovely and atmospheric x"

we visited the evening when there was a series of visitors. the service was slow and we were very surprised when the bar was closed at p.m, although the bar was full. that is not possible to lead a pub.

Not in a hurry to go back,it seemed as if the staff were in a hurry to clear the tables before we were ready. Switching the lights off and closing the bar was a sign for us to leave, and all this at !!!....Such a shame as the food was excellent.

This restaurant is located in a beautiful English village and offers delicious meals from a thoughtfully curated menu, ensuring diners aren't overwhelmed with choices. They also have a good selection of local beers and the staff are friendly and helpful. Despite the challenging roads to get there, it is definitely worth a visit.

The heating was sweltering for late June! The food was delicious, but the customer service was lacking. When our car broke down and we needed to get a taxi on a Sunday morning, we received no advice and were hurried out the door energetically. The door was then firmly closed behind us, even though we had not confirmed our pickup.

We are stopping at the lazy bear cottage about yards away, this is my second visit and all I can say is I love this pub.... it hasn't been messed about with in side, the cider is amazing... devon cider at it's best, the...owners are polite and so hard working, dogs are welcome, we haven't eaten here yet but it is on my to do list while I'm here..... what more can you say but carry on the great work

The Grade listed building is in a delightful location. I only had a couple of starter dishes, as I had a concert to go to. Both were excellent: the baked goat's cheese, pear and walnut salad with red onion jam was delicious. And so...was the roasted asparagus with poached egg and chorizo. The service was personable and professional. A very nice experience (though the narrow and windy access lanes a bit nerve-racking). Pevnser's guide to the church make it sound interesting, too. Must visit next time.

Food very good, menu varied and portions very good. Group of six and all ate different, no complaints other than had almost sold out of rump so we were limited as to who could have it!! Slow service at the bar, prices reasonable, fair. Waitress...in shorts didnt look overly professional but friendly. on a saturday night and told bar closing as she had to get home. Not sure an early closure on a saturday is great. Bit of a in the middle if nowhere place but was great to try.....just hadn't banked on being home so early !!!

Over the years, we have enjoyed many delicious meals at this restaurant, which we viewed as a hidden gem adorned with beautiful paintings. The diverse menu always kept us and our colleagues excited for our next visit. However, during our latest experience, we were disappointed to find that new ownership had led to a decline in service. The prices were higher than usual, and the menu offerings remained the same each night. It seemed as though the only focus was on booking tables and taking payment, rather than providing a memorable dining experience.

torbryan is almost a cul de sac village right in front of ipples, therefore easy to reach, follow brown signs, but the feeling as if it is the quietest village around. it is opposite the church that is used only for occasional service, as the place a museum...feel the inn is absolutely charming in the inner, has recently experienced a subtle transformation and is now also advertised as hotel. we have booked a nice table for Monday night. the place was quiet that added to the quiet rest of the village outside. eating was good, nothing pretentious and with minimal choice, it is recommended to be quite much cooked by fresh. I wonder if the cook with the steaks could be a little more adventurous...
