Old Farmhouse - Carta

Had a surprise birthday party for a friend. The food and service were excellent. Price was very reasonable and would recommend this venue. We will be back again.

We had a fantastic Christmas party meal with excellent service and delicious food. The staff were very accommodating and we really enjoyed the new farmhouse decor.

Pub looks amazing now it’s had its revamp, staff are all lovely and work very hard, Rocky served me he has very good manners and helped me with a query I had. Perfect pub for a family meal or for some drinks Ver carta

I have to say the refurbished pub is lovely .. and the food was exceptional.. I had Katsu curry .. and it was first class .. my other half had a steak and says it was one of the best she has had for a long time … can’t fault it .. staff were great too .. what’s not to like .. see you again soon !!

Apart from a nice refit that’s it. The place is run by kids with little or no manners. Food is massively overpriced for what it is. Tables and bar dirty and sticky along with empty glasses everywhere. Toilets had rubbish everywhere and couldn’t wash the soap off my hands as the taps don’t work In the toilet. Green king sort it before it ends up like the Testwood.

We both ordered the bacon and blue Burger, Chips were warm my burger was fine, well cooked. My friends burger was pink on the inside of the pattie. we had no table check, so on leaving to pay we complained, was told that it was ok to serve a burger pink inside, RUBBISH. if that was the case then why are we not asked how we would like it cooked, as per a steak. Refunded one meal. Will not return Ver carta

This was our first visit since reopening. We booked online to get a table and used the app to order drinks and food., this was really quick and effective. We did the small plates of tacos, chicken wings and chicken strips as starters, these were decent enough. Both of us opted for blue cheese burgers as mains, with one of us adding an extra burger. Again, these tasted good and were an ok portion. The menu seems more limited than before, and several of the beer options were not available, but service and quality of food made the visit worthwhile .

Lovely new décor. Menu hugely reduced in options but prices hugely increased, not good value for money, had a sharing nachos, hardly enough for one person. We ordered a garlic bread at the same time, despite asking for it twice, it eventually arrived with the comment it was put through as the main. Really! That was overcooked and rock hard. Really missing the Hungry Horse menu with it's wide choice and value for money. There were complaints made by two other couples at the same visit. Really inexperienced lad behind the bar and struggled to understand our order, hence why the garlic bread was a main.

Thought we would visit as newly refurbished and local to our home. I ordered lasagna which was fine, my husband ordered a mixed grill which was not great, the chicken seemed raw. On asking a member of the staff (who I think was the chef) the only response I had from him was ‘it comes in cooked’ and then just walked off. The young lady who dealt with our complaint was outstanding and if it wasn’t for her this review would have been marked as terrible. The chicken was not raw but a questionable quality. The fries however were lovely (although they had very little rosemary on them) Such a shame, decor was great! Ver carta
