The Old Ginn House Restaurant Bar

Excellent dinner. Service was great and the half chicken ham pie was excellent with lovely chips, veg and gravy. My partner loved the steak and ale pie too. Would recommend and good value. We will return to eat here for sure!

Clean warm rooms with great facilities We ate in the restaurant for dinner my husband opted for the mixed grill which wasn't for the faint hearted and it beat him, I had the salmon from the specials which came with asparagus crushed new potatoes and perfectly poached egg delicious would highly recommend

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at The Old Ginn House. It was easy to find and park. The restaurant, although quite busy, was large and spacious. The staff were helpful, polite, efficient and cheerful. Food was excellent fresh, well presented and plentiful. Prices were good too. I look forward to returning when I'm next in the area. Ver carta

Used this place as a stop over on way to visit family. Have to say the food was excellent, plenty of choice and reasonably priced. Friendly welcome on arrival. Rooms are basic , spacious enough. Unfortunately for me the bed pillows were shocking so uncomfortable, had very little sleep. The stars are for the food not for the stay I'm sorry to say.

Really nice hotel, lots of parking spaces, friendly reception staff, bar staff breakfast staff. Accommodated to our individual needs, let us check in early. Rooms very comfortable clean. Great facilities. Only criticism is the floor boards. I woke thinking someone was in my room but it was people walking along the hallway outside my room.. .. no harm done.. still a very restful night lovely stay. Keep up the good work guys!!

We stayed in the apartment accommodation above the restaurant for seven nights. It was a lovely comfortable place with a very well equipped kitchen. We ate in the restaurant for 2 nights. The food was lovely! The home cooked chips were a fave with our teen age children. I had a steak pie which was divine. The roast beef was amazing value for money. £10!!! I Went along with my family on Saturday 11.3.2023 for a joint biryhday get together, we thought it would be nice and quiet, we booked for 12 o,clock. The service was disgusting, the girls on duty were all giggling in the bar area instead of serving, we were the only people in the main area so thought the xervice would be good, two of us ordered the specials which said salad side, that didn,t come, we had to ask for it.seven of us ordered chips and we were given TwO dishes of chip (between seven) now something wrong there surely, e eryone was frightened to take too many chip, which was rediculous, evetyone should have had there oun dish, some wanted one between two other one each, and I must...

As two couples, we stayed for one night. When we arrived, we were informed you could only check in at 3pm. We were planning to have food there, so it was fine. The food was so nice, served hot plenty of it. After checking in we were happy with our room (room 8). It was very clean warm. The bathroom was warm very clean too. Our friends were in another annexe (room 32) said there room was very clean but the bed was very rickety the lighting in the bathroom was very dull. The shower head also needed maintenance as it was very loose. The breakfast was really lovely, cereals, yoghurts, toast a choice of hot breakfast from the menu. Went to celebrate our anniversary and was a little disappointed especially after reading the reviews. No bar area to sit and have a cosy drink as was advised they were all restaurant tables, although she did say we could sit at one of the many empty tables till 6 when it was booked. When we had our evening meal I had to complain about my mine. I never complain but felt I had to as I couldn’t eat my pie it was dry and even burnt in one part. They were very gracious and gave me a free dessert though to compensate. The lady who seemed in charge wasn’t very welcoming at all, even when I commented how nice the wine was, there was no response or acknowledgment back. They were obviously training so... Ver carta
