Solid gastropub grub experience with great indoor and outdoor seating options. Friendly staff and a cosy environment. The menu was extensive and covered all bases. Dropping a star as our plates were never cleared even after coffee's arrived and the car park does not seem to have the capacity to cope with a busy service. Ver carta

The Pheasant is part of a small pub chain, but unlike so many other pub chains, it feels like a one-off because of how you 're looked after and how good the food is. It 's quite a big pub with different areas to dine in, so it doesn 't feel like you 're eating in a dining hall, plus the outside area with it 's spectacular fabric 'sail ' room is fabulous. Great atmosphere, lovely people, highly recommended.

A friend and I had lunch today at The Pheasant. As someone with celiac disease, I was thrilled to find such a wide selection of gluten-free options available. There was a minor issue with both meals arriving simultaneously due to a kitchen appliance, but the manager handled it with great charm. The food, ambiance, and staff were all fantastic. The restaurant features a charming garden with well-spaced tables, complemented by attentive table service and friendly staff. I started with a delicious prawn cocktail, and the prawns were bursting with flavor. The belly pork as a starter was incredibly tender and served with a uniquely tasty salad – both dishes come highly recommended. However, the main course of fish and chips felt overpriced, and I was disappointed to find that sausage and mash was not available on the menu.

This restaurant deserves to be praised for its excellence! First off, the restrooms are immaculate, which really highlights their attention to detail. You can tell that this level of care extends throughout the entire establishment. The warm welcome, attentive service, and the enthusiasm and politeness from the staff reflect the overall teamwork and strong leadership. The food was outstanding—fresh salads, freshly baked bread, and a perfectly cooked, thick steak burger (something many kitchens have trouble achieving). Great meal, thank you, chef!

Wow, first time in this restaurant and amazing, the welcome from staff was amazing, big smiles and just so willing to help all the time. The food arrived at our table and was just so well presented and delicious. When the meal finished and we ordered desert my hubby and I opted for coffee and we wanted pouring cream instead of milk and they made a plan, so well presented in the blue and white beaker just fell in love with the fact that they so willing to go the extra mile. I had to use the wheelchair facilities for my MIL and we took a little wheel about into the interior reataurant and the decor and atmosphere inside was so inviting.Thank you Pheasant at Buckland we as a family enjoyed ever...
