"I always loved this pub, and I said before it's my favorite crowd in suffolk. we wanted to come back since the pub had a change into the owned and I am thrilled to say that it is still my favorite stuff in suffolk. not that I change my mind because new peculiarities have taken over, but sometimes can change bad, in this case change is very good, in the did. the pub still has the same beautiful charm he had and inviting and inviting. the staff was so helpful and attentive. the menu had a refreshing boost (where I loved the menu before, I must say that it had something extra.) so many inviting food choices and I loved that on the net they can decide a smaller size, where they can then press in a pudding and even a starter. it was perfect for my gran, who is not happy to face food. the menus change regularly, everything is completely fresh and with a major focus on homemade. even the mayonnaise was homemade and it was delicious. I ordered the blackburger, a thick, mouthwatering and fulfilling burger, with speck and monterrey jack cheese, served with thick and crispy, but fluffy chips. others in our party had steak, which was asked to be cooked blue, what they did and perfect. the special of the day, that was the pork bell that was beautiful and the meat very tender and a small portion sausage and maic. the food was absolutely delicious, plentiful and beautifully served. I can't believe I waited so long to come back! I loved eating here and the pub before and I love it now. cannot wait for our next visit. previous review below from a visit back in 2016. that must be my favourite in suffolk! it is all they want that a pub is! roaring fire, cozy and welcoming, old and historical, amazing eating and good beer/wine/teach! and they love dogs! it is the type of pub where they can enjoy a fabulous meal and at the end have too many drinks, because they have forgotten the world outside their doors! we'll be back soon!"

had an amazing vegan sunday roast here today! the dish was an unusual absorption of the usual British roast, packed with a lot of texture and rich, well-dried veg and aromen. highly recommended! it is a w small cozy pub to call and reserve a table.

We stopped by this lovely pub today for a drink and were impressed by its beauty. Although we didn't eat this time, we will definitely be back as the menu looked very tempting. The staff were incredibly kind, taking the time to chat with us and making us feel very welcome. Thank you!

I had an incredible vegan Sunday roast at this restaurant today! The dish was a unique twist on the traditional British roast, filled with plenty of texture and flavorful, well-seasoned vegetables. I highly recommend it! The pub is small and cozy, so it's best to call ahead and reserve a table.

a few beers on the way to wenhaston. great pint with friendly and efficient service and the menu was excellent. Unfortunately, we had already made plans for lunch, but the pub was soon quite busy with many covers. to judge the food that appeared was not a surprise. is recommended for a quick pint anyway.

Great pub, friendly welcoming helpful staff, great food with generous sized portions too!!! They are more than happy to provide excellent food for a vegan coeliac which admittedly isn't an easy combination to feed from my experience at other establishments!! Glad the pub is only 2.5 miles away as I'm definitely visiting again!! Anyone for the quiz?? ;

Thank you for a lovely meal on Friday night. The lady and gent who served us did an excellent job taking care of us and the food was also excellent. Reasonably priced, wonderful selection of food on offer and all served piping hot and beautifully presented. We had a sharing platter followed by the pork dish; all perfectly cooked, especially the pork. Thank you so much! Kelly Tom xx

"Fantastic Establishment. I drop in to the Queens Head just for a beer. So glad l did, what a breath of fresh air so different from the norm! Lovely welcome, one of the owners, the Landlady even helped me find a parking place and l recieved a really nice welcome. I was asked my name and when l got inside l was introduced to the an equally welcoming group of regulars. I have now returned 4 times and l am more than happy to become a regular. There are a number of local and National beers and ciders on offer. All are extremely well kept and served by helpful and welcoming team.. The Landlady certainly knows her beers and is so knowledgable and enthusiastic about local and National Beers and Ciders. The Queens Head is like the Tardis with various rooms all individually and tastefully furnished. There is also a large well kept Garden with plenty of tables. The food offering is also different from the Norm and offers the odd fish dishe, all nicely cooked and well presented. Price wise the Queens Head is certainly very competitive to anywhere local. I live Locally and have experience a number of local hostelrese. A couple of these are fine. However if l am honest, The Queens Head will take some beating. Such a great on going experience. Regular entertainment and food themed evening. From Friday 21st until Sunday 24 September 2023. With over 25 crafted Ciders and beers. Again local and national Breweris will be represented. Sorry about this lengthy review, but the Queens head certainly deserves it. Obviously you will need to visit to enjoy the experience. I can assure you, you won't be disappointed. Dennis"

"The menu selection was good, the food served was tasty...if lacking in quantity on the mains for the price though, the staff were attentative to a point (I 'll get on to that later) the ambience...the ambience was very bad. Its worth noting the room has a high ceiling and is pretty much void of many soft furnishings bar a few rugs drapped over the walls so the sound echos and reverberates making conversations difficult to hear. We had been pre warned by a number a freinds about the noise level in the room but we took that with a pinch of salt. Alas there was an issue with noise far beyond what we where expecting. The night we took our family we were positioned by what we mistook for an open doorway or putting it another way a doorway without a door, which we took as being like that so the staff could carry drinks through from the bar. Right next to this door on the other side of the wall is a seated entrance area to the bar where on our night about 30 locals spent the whole night screaming, swearing and getting drunk. The noise level was deafening in the dining area where we were sitting, we might as well had been sitting smack bang in the middle of the crowd, this noise permutated the whole dinning area but we had the full effect in stereo. After about an hour someone walked into the room and closed the door, to our dismay, shock and disbelief we could suddenly hear ourselves talk, hear that there had been music piped into the room all that time and questioned why oh why did the staff who are stationed right next to the doorway not close the door earlier. To be honest when we walked in none of us noticed a door was present as it was already open, as stated we assumed there was no door to aid the serving staff. We raised the question with the young staff who had been very attentive to us all night, can 't fault them there, as to why they didn 't think to close the door when the barage of screaming, shouting and swearing which had been relentless for the whole time we were there was obviously too much to bare when paying good money to eat out. Their answer pretty much summed up to 'yeah it does get very loud but if it was a problem you should have closed the door '...if any of us knew there was a door then we WOULD have closed it but to be honest the staffs attentiveness should have prevailed to understand, by their own admission that the noise was far too loud and there 's a regular issue with noise that the simple act of closing the door and keeping it closed would be the correct procedure to make the dining experience a pleasant one. On the way out we bumped, figuratively not literally, into the manager, we raised the issue with her about noise and staff taking initiative, let 's just say she was as far removed from listening to constructive feedback as someone could get, verging on rude and belligerent. So eat there, the foods nice, if somewhat tiny on the portions and take some ear defenders to drown out the rabble and prey you don 't have to give any feedback to aid them into a better experience going forward because you 'll end up with a very sour taste in your mouth, especially from the manager."
