"We’d read about Edwards on TripAdvisor and booked for Sunday lunch. Now be warned. If you don’t book, you won’t eat! On the menu is....well Sunday lunch, a roast dinner with chicken, beef or lamb....nothing else. But my, do they do it well! With your choice of meat, you get: carrots, green beans, cabbage, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pudding and a jug of gravy (with free refills). That’s 7 veg, plus the pud and gravy! Now NORMALLY, you get a choice of a upgrading in a carvery to extra large. Here, you get a choice of NORMAL or SMALL. To explain, small is really large, and normal is really another word for HUGE! But ALL the bills are small. Small is £6.95 and normal is £8.75. I hope that’s clear! Whatever, we had 2 HUGE roast dinners with drinks for under £20. Is that normal for Suffolk? Who knows? All we know is that it’s a quirky tardis of a place. The frontage is about 8ft wide but when you’re inside, it goes back a long way. There are maybe 12 tables for 4. And they’re booked solid every Sunday. So....book well ahead to avoid disappointment. This place is ultra popular with local people. And justifiably so. Good, plentiful, tasty, well-cooked food. Good honest food with no frills. We both had the lamb which was superb. Loads of tender slices of meat. Don’t think normal. Don’t think big. Think HUGE....and then some! Now this is no posh restaurant with crisp linen tablecloths and poncy waiters. It’s sort of a cafe...PLUS. You can have a glass or a bottle of wine, or a beer. So...a small place with big portions of normal food?!?! Try it. Amazing sums it up. And great fun if you get chatting to Karen. You will definitely not be disappointed.....unless you forget to book well ahead that is."

Visited again as the withdrawal symptoms were getting worse. Chicken with mash, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, and 3 kinds of vegetables, Yorkshire pud all done to perfection! The boss had beef with all the trimmings. Edwards is the only place we go to for roast dinners. All others are inferior not their fault Edwards place the bar too high for them to compete. Ver carta

You could very easily walk past Edwards cafe but give it a try. Very good value for money and well home cooked food. Small and cosy, need to book at busy times. An efficient manager who runs a tight ship. I dont think she would hesitate to sort out any customers who were late. We got told off for being early! Really nice sunday lunch but only 3 choices. Well worth a visit, but be on time!

I'm a glutton for punishment (or maybe just a glutton). Sunday roast at Edwards .... chicken, roast and mashed potatoes, fine beans, carrots, AND CAULIFLOWER CHEESE!!! Excellently prepared utilising Kevin's skills and presented accompanied by Karen's acerbic wit. Altogether an exhilarating experience best repeated. I didn't have room for dessert (although the leftovers were taken home for the dogs they love it too), but she who must be obeyed had a takeaway rhubarb crumble and custard; too weighty to eat in one sitting, she ate it in two half an hour apart. Yum.

I’ve just eaten lunch here 10/11/18 and if you like good old-fashioned home-cooked food, this is the place to visit. Everything, and I mean everything, even their sweets are home cooked. And, all of the ingredients are locally sourced. I had ‘Palmers’ locally produced sausages with mash and seasonal vegetables. Sad I didn’t have enough room to enjoy one of their traditional English sweets. How nice it was to have a good strong pot of tea made with Tea leaves as well. The joint owner Karen is lovely, chatting with all her customers, with a bit of banter thrown in. Everywhere is clean and tidy. This is a place I can thoroughly recommend. Ver carta

Visited Edwards for (yet another) Sunday roast. I had normal chicken (must try the abnormal chicken one day probably has three legs) and the Boss had a small beef. Meals arrived excellently (or do I mean perfectly) cooked with lashings of seasonal veg (including sprouts not been seen for some time tut tut), and the superb cauliflower cheese. Dunk the whole lot in the supplied gravy (beef and chicken flavour depending) and enjoy! All served to the accompaniment of Karen's wit (free entertainment). Boss chose blueberry cheesecake to take away, but managed to scoff it within 5 seconds of arriving home! Global reports suggest it was luvverly. Kevin you're an invisible star. (And her name is defi...

Carry on like this and we’ll soon be regulars! Maybe not. I think that Edwards is a daily destination for some local folk, due to a combination of: good, tasty, plentiful food; great prices; a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. This time, I had roast beef whilst my wife had chicken. Both “Normal” size, which is extra large by most people’s standards. As last time, all was perfectly cooked and accompanied by carrots, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower cheese, green beans, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, a huge Yorkshire and a large personal jug of gravy! Oh and huge portions of beef and chicken. I had peach crumble and custard for pud. My wife had lemon meringue pie with cream. One pot of tea. Tota...
