"I had a lovely stay at The 'R ' Inn and was welcomed personally by the Manageress from the roadside when I couldn 't find the location due to me misreading the Sat Nav! When I arrived fairly late (21.00) the bar was open and I was shown to my allocation by the same lady. I had a lovely very clean, tidy and well made up little room, which was adequately stocked with tea and coffee making facilitiies, widescreen TV, a shower and lots of clean towels. At first, I was worried about the temperature with the single fixed window, as it was quite a warm evening when I arrived but the powerful and quiet free standing electric fan did an equal job to air conditioning and I slept like a log. My only issue was I couldn 't work out how to change the channels on the TV remote, so I watched several episodes of 'Everyone 's talking about Raymond '! There is adequate parking at the rear, of the building, which has a security floodlight. Despite being located in a busy little village, it was very quiet and I would definitley visit again and the 'R ' Inn comes highly recommended for those travelling light. Need a place to stay? We R inn! Rooms: Small but well laid out and good use of space Safety: When the front desk was un-manned, clear instruction were given by the use of signage, although I did misinterpret the night time entrance! Walkability: Right on the high street with shops and pubs! Food drinks: Just what you would expect from a low budget hotel Noteworthy details: Very reminiscent of the fully automated hotel structure in France"

It is so difficult to rate this place. It 's not in a great place. We didn 't even see the grass shown in the photo! The area is more 'back of the shops '. Our room was bright and apart from the carpet, very clean. We asked for it to be redone, which it was, but there wasn 't any obvious difference, so service was great but didn 't achieve anything! Light switches in the room were all in the wrong place eg behind the doors or not within reach from the bed! Finally only snacks available between 5pm 9pm. That 's when the in house club bar is open. Ok for locals but no breakfast or evening meal available! Ver carta

Quite a nice and quiet area with a pub across the road which never got very busy. Getting to rooms can be a bit confusing, especially if you have multiple rooms for the family, etc. Service was good, but the staff are not always there and provide alternative methods to ask for assistance. The rooms were extremely clean and had all the facilities you would need for the night. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. Rooms: The rooms were not luxury size but given the price, very good and definitely large enough for staying the night. Nearby activities: There is a pub and multiple takeouts on the same road, and it never got busy. Safety: The stairs to some of the rooms are very steep but not to...

Only stayed one night, but the room was spacious with a large comfortable bed with two pillows, wardrobe, tea making facilities, large TV on the wall, and bedside cabinets. The bathroom had a toilet, sink, shower, and a corner bath with very lovely taps. The hotel did have a very large bar area with many large round tables ideal for a wedding venue. Although the website for the hotel states they serve tapas, this is now incorrect. The reception is not open 24 hours. When the front door is locked, the usable door is up and down steps, which is not ideal for the disabled. But overall I did enjoy my stay at this hotel and I recommend the Indian restaurant nearby. Food drinks: There is no food a...

"Richard and I, en route from Cambridge to Shropshire, chanced upon this splendid cafe in Kettering, easily accessible from the A14. The cafe occupies a cosy space with a breakfast bar by the window, offering a lovely view of the local red-brick architecture, and a fine place from which to watch the colourful characters of Kettering passing by. Unlike some cafes, there was no 'greasy spoon ' smell, which was a boon. Instead a delightful and appetite-arousing aroma of freshly cooked bacon and eggs. Richard opted for the small breakfast, and had no trouble in swapping out his eggs and tomato for black pudding and mushrooms at no extra cost. I ordered the much-vaunted breakfast baguette. The food was cooked freshly and served quickly. Richard was impressed by the appearance of his plate, and more so by the delicious food which he consumed with gusto. Richard said the bacon was well cooked, the mushrooms were good, not too greasy, generally everything was well cooked, the only thing that could have been better was the sausage, which was fine but obviously a 'standard quality ' sausage . My breakfast baguette was fantastic, the crispy bread was marvellous and the generous filling was hot and tasty, and not at all greasy. All this, plus two steaming cups of flavoursome tea for the bargain price of £9.90. We both took the opportunity to use the facilities and we 're impressed with their cleanliness and the provision of Radox soap. On the whole a great find. We will certainly drop in again if we pass by on another adventure."
