"We were fortunate to find a couple of available tables at this popular café in the dales during peak lunchtime on holiday. We ordered the delicious falafel wraps and a sourdough hummus open sandwich with red cabbage and olives for my son. He absolutely loved the red cabbage, and the sandwich transformed what could have been a typical lunch into a hearty meal for him, thanks to its generous size and appealing presentation. The side salad was nicely arranged and included some seeds, but it felt a bit unnecessary since my wraps came with a similar salad garnish. We didn't try the one vegan cake because it seemed quite pricey. I think we ended up ordering more than we actually needed (his smoothie and the salad), and each item was on the expensive side. Next time, I might explore the other two nearby places, as we frequent the Retreat quite a bit. It’s usually better in Grassington during the winter on weekdays."

Friendly staff, great food and clearly marked menu for vegan options and gluten free. I had the vegan burger with gucamole and mushrooms which was really tasty.

The burger was nice a meaty burger with avocado and mushrooms not my fave toppings but was still good. The caramel oat latte was delicious. Lots of cake choices too.

Unfortunately, this place isn't as vegan-friendly as it once was when it was a vegetarian cafe, but it's still the best dining option in the village. I tried the pea and mint soup, which was homemade and absolutely delicious.

Nice cafe in lovely Grassington vegan options of a falafel wrap or a vegan burger. Could do with more vegan options really. Nice coffee. They had a vegan apple and pecan cake which I think was homemade I didn’t try it as I was full but nice to have a vegan cake option!

A wonderfull little village and a great cafe with a large selection of food. Being able to ask for soya milk in you latte is great and having the option of a couple of vegan cakes. The food here is well cooked and the service very friendly. They even do a tasty take out lunch for walkers/bikers etc.

Since it was midnight and I wanted something light, I ordered the blackcurrant and shortbread crumb cake with vegan ice cream. It was absolutely delicious! When it arrived, I thought the portion was a bit small, but it turned out to be the perfect size. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Rampart! Ver carta

This cafe has a lovely atmosphere and offers a variety of vegan options, including falafel wraps and vegan burgers. However, I believe they could expand their vegan menu further. The coffee is excellent, and I noticed they have a vegan apple and peach cake, which I think is homemade. I didn't get to try it since I was too full, but it's great to see a vegan cake option available!

Happy Cow is fantastic! Instead of searching through menus outside various cafes, we arrived in Grassington, checked Happy Cow, and found The Retreat — and that's where we decided to go. The menu offered many vegan options (as well as the ability to veganize several other dishes), and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I was in the mood for something light (it was mid-afternoon), so I chose the Blackcurrant and Shortbread Crumble Cake with vegan ice cream. It was absolutely amazing! I initially thought it looked like a small portion, but it turned out to be just the right size. I will definitely stop by again the next time I’m in Grassington!
