Excellent food. The best we've had in a long time. The dish was filled with plenty of vegetables and the salmon was delicious. The presentation was top-notch. Thank you. We will definitely be coming back.

Omg we went to the inn and never again the food was Absolutely awful and so was the staff they didn't speak to you and just looked at you like u was not there the beer was Expensive for a country pub will not be returned and nor will our friends never again

What a hidden gem! The owner was incredibly welcoming and friendly, even with my two teenage boys in tow. The staff were also fantastic - attentive, friendly, and great conversationalists. The food was exceptional. I can't wait to visit again on my next vacation. Ver carta

Tragedy what it's become. I remember it years ago, warming and welcoming. Today, Landlord lady whoever no hello or thank you. When I arrived, went to bar and stood for 30 seconds until barmaid realised I was there. She was scrolling on her phone . This place is reflection on today's society Sad.

Went for a family meal, there was one of us is celiac, three vegetarians, and the rest ate meat, we had veggie lasagne, mixed grill, burgers and fish and chips. Every single meal was cooked to perfection, very generous portions and tasted amazing! Staff were also very friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be back!

Food is good, great play area for the kids. Good garden BUT the staff basically have no personality…. Just not a great vibe which is a shame as this really lets it down. Also when we got served the food we couldn’t order drinks to the table outside ? Surely you lose business through that ? Anyway, just my view ! Probably won’t return Ver carta

Four of us popped in for a late Sunday afternoon lunch today. We hadn’t booked but were lucky to get a table in the garden. Service was efficient and friendly. The garden was busy and happy with families. We had an all day brunch, fish platter, burger and fish and chips. Decent, good pub grub. We were all full. Four drinks, four main meals came to £80….so good value too!

We decided to try this restaurant for a last minute family dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. It is a traditional English pub with delicious food, generous portions, and excellent service. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and we have been back several times since our first visit. This is definitely one of the best places to eat in Southampton. Thank you to the wonderful team at The Rising Sun!

After visiting another local venue that had not food to offer, we came here. Well, what a pleasent little place, attentive staff, great service and food to match. Chefs special which I enjoyed was the Beef Bourgugnon, my friends had fish and chips and burgers which were all clean plates by the end. Prices were fantastic for the quality. Thanks to our servers Declan and Alice for a great meal. Nice to meet locals who are not little gremlins that fester nearby. Ver carta
