The River House - Carta

Each course was full of flavour. Each was presented beautifully. The staff are friendly and attentive. Highly recommend a visit.

Went for a roast dinner. It was nice. The service was good. I think the price was very fair. All in all a nice play to eat and drink.

Is quite nice but not fine dining , after asking for 20 mins beween starter and mains the mains had been left under the heat lamps !! Ver carta

Came here as a group of 7. We were given a lovely round table so it was easy to chat to everyone. Staff were friendly. Food was delicious and really tasty. Would recommend to others.

Myself and my partner only had drinks but the place was fabulous. Clean and modern yet still having a welcoming vibe. The staff were pleasant and my gin and tonic was to die for. Will definitely be returning.

Service was slow and not very nice. Had finished the drink before the food arrived.We ordered avocado on toast with bacon. It was one piece of toast cut in two, cold and not very nice looking. On top of it, it was expensive Ver carta

Hake and chips beautiful light tasty batter and hake. Belly pork, dauphinoisse potatoes pork was cooked lovely, however dry bland potato dauphinoisse, broccoli and parsnip, parsnip was undercooked not al dente. Perfume like taste on the broccoli, really really disappointed and no feedback from chef.

Such a great restaurant and well deserved bib gourmet rating. First I made a mistake and we booked for 1 less adult despite having a cranky 2 year old with a high chair we were professionally seated and accommodated . Starters , mains were unbelievably and so tasty , dessert was sublime . Two bottles of the rose blush helped set the evening and beautiful view. Staff worked really hard and provided pen and paper to occupy child and a children’s menu . Brilliant staff . Awesome food

Thursday 21st July We asked for a table for four, got told to wait to be seated no problem. After Waiting 15 minutes we were told the restaurant is not yet open, it opens at 5PM. Both British members of staff were behind the bar infront of us for 15 minutes as we waited so if the resturant was not open, why ask us to wait? Whilst other dinners were seated already, it can only mean one thing racism at its finest because we were clearly visitors in town? Should be ashamed of the two male staff members at the bar!
