The Riverside Tavern

I ate here on my second night in Lanark, avoiding the hotel I was staying in. The food was good, though a wee bit salty for my taste. I would eat there again.

Stopped in here for a bit of respite during a circular walk from the falls of clyde. We both had coffee and cakes which were lovely .. though admittedly quite pricey. Staff were friendly and pleasant.

Good value curry club Water and biscuits for our golden retriever, Beer and wine for my wife and me. South India curry full of flavour and with just the right degree of spicyness. Service and welcome friendly. Great to have this as our nearest...pub/restaurant Ver carta

Have used this restaurant several times with Groupon vouchers both for two and for four persons. Excellent menu choice with all dishes fresh and homemade. Each time the food was delicious with generous portions. Friendly and efficient service. Overall great value we will return.

sat for Sunday dinner, the cocktail was sprinkled on a sign, no tomato, gurke or lemon. Roast-Rind was like leather, veg cold and gravure like water, macaroni cheese, floating in oil, garlic brot brick hard. the bar was ice-cold and a strong odour of moisture. very disappointed, could not recommend it and will not be beaten back

Wow! Not the greatest kerb appeal, but what excellent food! This place with a little finesse could outclass many places in the area. Once we had bypassed the bar and pool table, and got over the exterior approach....good god I sound such a snob!.....the food...was divi Even! We had a sharing platter between four and then I can only say that the main courses were incredible and excellent value. Friendly service was great. If this place upped its game the possibilities would be as incredible as its food. Wow...just wow! Ver carta

We visited using a Groupon voucher. When we arrived I was a little bit put off as the decor is a bit ye olde pub but we were seated and orders taken. To start we had vegetable pakora and pate which were both very nice....For main my other half had the mixed grill which was quite a plateful and I had vegetable lasagne served with garlic bread and chunky chips. We both really enjoyed our mains, served piping hot, fresh and absolutely delicious. Just proves that first impressions are not always right ! Would recommend 100

we have booked a meal by itison for this restaurant. we called 2 weeks before the time to give our name and phone number. on the day we showed up, we were told that the place was closed as there was a problem in the kitchen. strangely I was told the same thing on the day I reported myself! instead of traveling after half an hour to get there! we asked about the manager when she arrived, she told us that there was a huge battle at the place in the night before! then she was very upset. not their fault, of course, but do not understand why they simply didn't call us and canceled and saved the wasted journey!

we decided to go with our enkelin for tee, we chose riverside tavern as we live very close, we were not sure what was expected as it was recently taken, but to say we were not disappointed would be an understatement. my man and I ordered both the fish and chips, the fish was beautiful and the homemade tea was the best I served in a long while the chips were small baskets. my enkelin wanted chicken bugges, and when they arrived, they were big pieces of fresh chicken with the same homemade dough and sneak. the staff was very friendly and said that they were really only about five weeks there. I would tell anyone looking for somewhere in the lanark area to try to eat the riverside tavern it is... Ver carta
