Great pies, well worth the trip. Walkability: A pleasant walk from Wickham and surrounded by footpaths through woods and walked to up the disused railway line. Hotel highlights: Kid-friendly, Great value

After touring Nelson's fort stopped in for late lunch Food drinks: Over from Canada visiting cousins in Portsmouth area. I have no information as to the rooms as my cousins took me here for late lunch. Lunch was very good , portions were large , prices surprisingly reasonable. Atmosphere cozy warm and quiet. I stopped by for Sunday lunch after searching for the best Sunday Roast and checking out the Google reviews. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the pub itself was well-maintained. However, the food was just alright. The portions were generous, but overall it felt quite basic. Not the worst experience, but certainly not the best! Service rating: 4.

Overall, it was an excellent place for our family to catch up and enjoy a meal. It's rare to find a venue these days where you don't have to shout over loud music or the noise from fruit machines and rowdy crowds. This charming, traditional country pub is nestled in beautiful surroundings and has exceptionally clean tables and facilities that cater to all ages and muddy pets.
