"Really wish I’d read the reviews first ! Booked afternoon tea with champagne for a birthday treat for my husbands birthday. Nice welcome and swiftly seated to a beautifully set table. Savoury was simple and very basic. Scones were on the smaller side no fruit but cherry which. I had both while hubby had both plain scones. Tasteless mini muffins, all very simple. Three of the smallest sandwiches each. A sausage meat ball not even a sausage roll of any description. No tea menu whilst no big problem would have been a nice touch. Cakes sweetie treats ! Where to start not a piece of cake in sight, just tiny sweet bites all on a single side plate ! Placed on table the table. When I asked the server to please tell me what we were eating she said she’d have to check … the Apple tart definitely was not apple and was rhubarb although she was adamant I was wrong, the chap next to us agreed definitely rhubarb! The mini chocolate choux pastry just collapsed and the miniature shortbread was more like something from a kindergarten. A massive disappointment, as we left no one checked in on us. I made a point of stopping on my way out again the young lady seemed completely unbothered by our dissatisfaction. This wasn’t cheap, yes we expected more. Wish we just dropped in for a scone and a cuppa."

Extremely long wait for order to be taken Disorganised system for waitress service Rude staff Mediocre quiche and salad Scone microwaved to death , so hot that the jam and cream turned to liquid , Coffee good but would be better in a coffee cup rather than a China teacup

This was our first time visiting and we were not disappointed. We opted for afternoon tea, which was beautifully presented and delicious. We really enjoyed our experience. The grounds were beautiful and we took a pleasant walk, spotting many different butterflies. The only downside was that the house and church were closed on the day we visited, but we will definitely come back to see them another time.

We was looking forward to a decent meal in what looked to be a nice venue. The staff were all very friendly but we waited 50 minutes for our food and the place was only half full. The food really wasn’t great. The venison burger was cremated so was dry and tasteless. The sandwich had very thick bread which was too much and hid the filling. The price we paid for lunch really didn’t reflect the quality of the food or the service unfortunately. Ver carta

My husband and I reserved Afternoon Tea and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were kind and accommodating. This is one of the finest Afternoon Teas I have ever had, and I have tried Afternoon Tea at various places such as Harrods and Kensington Palace. The assortment of pastries and sandwiches was exceptional. We were served two scones, one plain and one fruit, which was a nice touch as some places only provide one. A delightful variety of desserts was served last. I highly recommend this Afternoon Tea. It is a great deal for the price.

We ended our visit with a visit to the restaurant , we gave ourselves plenty of time as we were using public transport, however they lost our ticket so after half an hour we hadn't been served , usually i would have said something but we were talking and tbh didn't realise how long we had waited, the waitress was great and hurried our food up as we wanted to visit the shop before we left. the food was delicious a scotch egg and the summer 3 slider special because of the time we ended up having to take away the giant chocolate eclair which by the time we ate it may have been the reason for it being a bit lacking in taste.

We were eventually shown to a table, it took 20 minutes before someone came to take our order. A further 20 minutes the drinks arrived but no food. A further 20 minutes we had finished our drinks but we still hadn’t received our food. We decided at this point (1 hour after arriving) to leave. The lady at the desk gave the excuse that there were coach parties but we didn’t see any evidence of this, she was quite rude and didn’t offer any valid explanation or apology for the delay. The whole restaurant was badly organised, there appeared to be plenty of waitresses but when we asked if we could place our order we were told ‘no’ someone else would take it. Unless you have the patience of a saint... Ver carta

Our experience at the restaurant at Sandringham House was made special thanks to the wonderful staff. The sign outside indicated that dogs are welcomed, and indeed they are! Although our two dogs are not usually comfortable in such environments, particularly our young cocker spaniel, we decided to give it a try. To our delight, upon entering, a water bowl was provided for our dogs along with cozy mats for them to rest on. The staff was incredibly helpful and understanding when we mentioned that our dogs might not be able to settle enough for us to order anything more than a drink. With the help of some dog treats and the relaxed attitude of the staff, we were able to enjoy some delicious hot...

If you want to know what it’s like to be a Lady in Waiting this is the place to go for a long wait. On arrival we hadn’t booked so we were advised that it was a 20 minute wait. Being shown to our table took circa 5 minutes but the wait for anyone to take an order or to arrange a drink was 20 minutes. We were just debating going elsewhere when the waitress arrived and took our order a very uncomplicated burger and chips and Quiche which took over 20 minutes again. The chips were almost cold and we did advise the manager who arranged for a fresh batch of chips which arrived after the other food had been consumed. The restaurant was barely half full though tables were being laid for afternoon t...

"We had pre-booked a table for 6 people to have lunch at 2:15pm. We arrived on time and were shown to the table, which had only been set for 4 people which meant we had to pull a further 2 chairs up to the table, and had to request a wine list. We ordered a round of drinks for the table which took c. 15 minutes to arrive. We were waiting a considerable amount of time for a food menu. Eventually we called a waiter over to order some food and were told that the kitchen we no longer serving, despite having booked a table for lunch and not being warned of the kitchen closing time. The staff told us to be quick in ordering however took a further 10 minutes to come and take the order. The food eventually came and the waitress didn 't even put the food at the correct place, she merely put them on the table for us to distribute accordingly. When the bill eventually came, we politely requested the *optional service charge was removed from the bill as we did not feel that we had received adequate service to warrant a tip, to which the manager began shouting that it as shocking that we wanted to rightfully remove the tip. He went on to say that the kitchen staff had stayed over time to prepare our food. My question to the owner is this... if your chefs are unwilling to work over their hours, why are you offering a reservation close to closing time whilst your staff are incapable of processing the orders to the kitchens in the correct timescale and working hours. If we were told that the kitchen were closing soon, we would have cooperated with the staff to help them work to their time scales."
