If you’re on the fence between places come here! Jonny is an incredible host with stand out service. Nothing is too much and squeezed us in at a moments notice on a very busy night when another pub (The George) wouldn’t take us for dinner when we were 10 mins late. We visited Chatsworth and were staying in Tideswell, so booked a table for 6 at the Star Inn on Saturday night. The landlord and staff were really welcoming and the food was lush. Most of us had pies and one had steak, but with a side of pie envy. They were genuinely the best pies we'd tasted . The pub has a great atmosphere and a good choice of beers and wines. The menu isn't extensive, but everything is well-prepared, and they offer several vegetarian options too. We happened to arrive on 'pie night' during the week, and the homemade pies were fantastic! We enjoyed them so much that we ordered the same ones the next night—now that speaks for itself! The Steak and Stilton and Ham and Leek pies were particularly delicious. I highly recommend them. What really makes this place stand out is the warmth of the community, from the locals to the staff. The younger staff members were especially friendly and happy to chat, making us feel right at home.
