"Booked in advance for group of 12 including children,at the time of booking for 6pm , I was told there was another booking of 12 in for 6.30pm but no problem. On arrival at 6.05pm the other party of 12 were already seated and we...were seated very very close to them. There was only space for 11 of us so I complained and we were moved into the bar area which was fine. Ordered drinks and waited for the menus to arrive, 6.45pm no menus so asked for them and watched the waitress go back to the bar and ask for menus to be told there were no menus available. We were not told this in person and so after some time and about 7 30pm the waitress came over with the menus! I informed her that we had two very young children with us 2 and 3 and we now wanted to cancel the meal reservation. I spoke to the lady in charge and voiced my complaint about what had taken place and all she could say was she was very sorry. We were on a family break which was seriously impacted by this experience. Finally during a Covid Pandemic on entering this establishment there were portable heaters everywhere including sat on the bar together with a log burner on full throttle, Wow! Would I advise anyone to book a meal here "

The most amazing steak ever, we ordered the Himalayan salted steak it was the most succulent, tasty steak we've tasted, cooked to perfection and served by efficient, helpful, friendly staff. would definitely recommend.

Visited here for a birthday meal yesterday and had a wonderful experience. The food is amazing, ordered the Beef stroganoff followed by baked Alaska which were deliciously home cooked. The place is busy but they have plenty of staff and are well organised. I also...like to visit places with no piped music. Highly recommended!

Waited a whole hour for a burger and a steak n ale pie which comes with gravy. My burger was lovely but the pie was more ale than steak and literally a tablespoon of separate gravy in a tiny pot was a joke. I was furious so took the gravy back. We were offered a drink but as we’d almost finished a bottle of wine waiting I didn’t want more. The gravy took another 15 minutes but we had finished the dinner. Never again and no it’s not a one off

Hi we visit the Sutton Arms quite regular, mostly on a Friday or Saturday evening for a lovely big steak!!! (You won't get a better steak in the whole of North Yorkshire) If you like steak this place is a must trust me. The Wife...loves the half lobster half fillet Steak. I opt for the 32oz Rib Eye on the Bone. We decided to go for Sunday lunch this time 27/06/21 and weren't disappointed,Absolute value for money beautiful food and fantastic service,we will certainly be returning

We visited the Sutton Arms for a Friday night meal and yet again it was fantastic. Everything about this restaurant is just right from the warm welcome by the friendly staff through to the cosy surroundings and definitely the food. Again we had a beautiful...meal of steak, belly pork and fish cakes. The food here is definitely the best we’ve ever had for miles around and that’s going back years. I definitely recommend this restaurant for any body who appreciates great food fantastically cooked.

We were recommended a trip here by a family running our pod on a nearby campsite. They accommodated us no problem and the food was 100% faultless. We had a Camembert to share and then a chicken parmo and steak pie. The homemade steak pie...deserves a special mention as it was so tender and amazing! The chicken parmo was clearly fresh and topped beautifully. These meals were accompanied by a selection of chips, potatoes and veg which finished the meal nicely. The lady who dealt with us (sorry we did not get a name) was brilliant and friendly, happy to help with anything. Would definitely recommend a trip here!!

the 4 of us got a late cancellation here and were really excited to try the dishes on the menu. first we ordered drinks. I wanted a rosenpinot wine they didn't have, but went for the recommended Californian rose. The...Lady manager listened to me that it was a bit sweet for me and immediately asked if I had something else instead that I ordered a glass of white pinot. eating was really amazing! we have a free little cup suppe that we all enjoyed. two of us had the filet steak, and like all the reviews I've read, it was beautiful. the parmo was beautiful and my dish of salmon fillet, sea bass and homemade fish cake was absolutely delicious, and the sauce was beautiful! unfortunately no place...
