The Swan - Carta

This is a classic British pub with traditional decor, a fantastic selection of beers, and a welcoming attitude towards dogs.

Nice chilled out pub. Friendly and the first pub you'll hit when you come across the bridge. Plenty of places to sit and a nice outdoor area.

we had read good reviews of the black swan before we came to york. we were not disappointed. the atmosphere of this year's free house transports one. Ver carta

this pub is something outside the beaten path, but it is worth visiting. it was among the best pub food I ever had, if not the best. I ordered the steak.

the black **** is a very cool century house that has been transformed into a pub and a gas house you really get a feeling of history here it is supposed to be.

Down here most years for the Ebor festival and always spend time in this pub. great wee venue on the way to the races with a beer garden for when the weather is good. Ver carta

This is a traditional pub in every sense of this description. Such a pleasure to see a wide selection of beers and drinks available, cut-off rooms, no food offered, no music, pure packed with people and their dogs with a conversation.... such a joy. Very recommended place

A nice surprise. Looks a bit tired from the outside, but as soon as you get in there is an immediate change in the atmosphere. Very well maintained beers and an enormous selection plus ciders. I remembered my locals when I was younger. We sat in the garden and met very friendly people and their crazy dogs... and that was just at noon.

Lovely good old fashioned pub with a bar and a parlour. Wide range of gins (my thing) and other spirits to choose from. Also a good range of real ales to choose from (hubbies thing) Clean and comfy and welcoming is how I'd describe this place. Great for all ages. Has a lovely beer garden, white washed walls planted up. Would recommend to anyone for a drink alone or with friends. Dog friendly. Ver carta
