"My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night. Our first impressions were not great - we arrived at 2 o'clock and inquired about checking into our room. We were told check-in wasn't until 3 o'clock, but the receptionist offered to let us pay a fee to receive the key early. We explained we had a wedding to prepare for that evening. Despite this, the receptionist insisted we come back closer to check-in time. At 2:55, I returned to the reception where there were two couples ahead of me. The receptionist took our names and called housekeeping to see if our rooms were ready - unfortunately, they were not. With only 5 minutes until check-in time, I expected the rooms to be prepared, especially considering the early check-out time of 11 o'clock. Despite the wait, the receptionist assured us the rooms would be ready in 5 minutes. Exactly at 3 o'clock, like clockwork, we were finally allowed to check in. The room was mostly clean, although the toilet was not up to standard. I would have expected a higher level of cleanliness given the amount of time they had to prepare. On a positive note, the rooms were beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. Another receptionist during our visit was much more polite. I have stayed in many hotels for both business and leisure purposes, and have never encountered such a strict check-in policy."

What a wonderful hotel! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We rated the rooms a 4, the service a 5, and the location a 4. The hotel offers great value for the price.

Great wedding venue, staff super good .Food was just ok, however that's normal for wedding venues who have to put 180plus plates on tables at the same time. This is hard to do at a reasonable price so not really an issue. Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Kid-friendly, Great value

This restaurant is like a little slice of heaven. It has a fabulous location with a lovely atmosphere, you can't go wrong dining here. It's just minutes away from many attractions. The rooms are top-notch, the service is excellent, and the location couldn't be better. This hotel is perfect for a romantic and quiet getaway.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The receptionist seemed to look down on me and gave me a vague description of where to go. The room initially looked nice, but upon closer inspection, I found stained carpets, cobwebs on the chandelier, black gunk in the jacuzzi bath, and black fungus under the bath mat. The bed had crumbs on it and the overall cleanliness was disappointing. It's an old home turned into a hotel which caters specifically to weddings and other large events. It was very dusty and the carpets were worn and stained. It had some cool furniture and decor and the rooms were fine. The lady who served us breakfast each morning was fabulous, really friendly and great to have a laugh with. The guy that looked after the restaurant for lunch completely forgot about us after having seated us. We had to go find him to place our order for drinks and then waited ages to give our order for food which quite frankly was just ok, nothing fantastic. From our very first visit to The Villa on our wedding venue search, we knew it was the place we wanted to get married. For me, it was the oldy worldy feel of the venue with the beams in the Hall and the fairy lights that really swayed it.
