Absolutely amazing meal and fabulous service and ambiance. I can’t recommend this place enough. The attention to detail is second to none. We had Oysters to start followed by seafood Linguine and I had smoked haddock pea leek and spinach risotto topped with a poached egg wonderful . The choice of menu and wines is fantastic. I recommend this pub 100% but ensure to book in advance

Great food and service again. We used to visit this pub when we lived over an hour away, luckily now we’ve moved it’s only a 10 minute drive. The food is always excellent, this visit I had the die for cauliflower soup followed by the best mussels I’ve had for years. This is a proper village pub with lovely beer garden and friendly service along with the gorgeous food. Looking forward to our next visit, it seems we can’t leave without booking the next meal.

We decided to try here for my husbands birthday after reading the great reviews. We weren't disappointed! We booked with open table and there was an occasion option for which we highlighted birthday. When we arrived there was a birthday card on the table which was a lovely touch. The food was amazing from start to finish, so tasty and very reasonably priced for the quality. Unfortunately we don't live locally but we will surely return next time we're visiting family. Thank you!

Opens at 6pm and walked in with no booking. Friendly greeting and last table available. Service super, efficient and friendly, decor modern country and lovely atmosphere. Prices mid range. Food exceptional for price. We were given some wonderful home baked bread and I had smoked salmon on pancake, my husband mussels in cream and white wine sauce. Mains I had smoked haddock and spinach risotto, husband went for the steak both superb. We shared a bottle of Merlot and my husband also had an Estrella which was spot on. Cannot recommend enough, would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

If you're not keen on Garlic with everything then I would advise not dining here. Even the home made bread comes with garlic butter. Why do restaurants insist of adding it to everything? I had the steak, no mention of garlic on the menu. The steak arrives smothered in a garlic butter and apparently marinated in garlic oyster sauce. Even the chips had a garlic sauce over them. Some people prefer to taste the actual food!! The Rose wine was also over priced and underwhelming. £33.00 for a bottle of £15.00 wine is over the top. It was described as top quality and yet had an slightly bitter aftertaste.

We have wanted to eat here for quite some time now after it being recommended by so many people but struggled as always fully booked! (Not a bad thing) so we were delighted when we managed to get a cancellation booking. We arrived 15 minutes early to be greeted by a lovely lady behind the bar letting us know our table will be ready shortly and that we could get some drinks and sit in the bar area. Sure enough the table was ready for 8pm. All staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered oysters to start, my husband had the potted shrimp for staters and the pork belly for main, I had the goats cheese salad and the sea bream for main.
