"I visited this pub in August I am writing this review in disgust! I received a parking fine and immediately phoned the pub for them to verify I used the pub on the date of the fine. A young lady informed me I needn’t do anything as they would inform the parking company and the fine would be squashed! A week later I received a reminder and again I phoned the pub and a Second Lady informed me she would deal with it and actually remembered me going in the pub to meet my cousin (who incidentally was in a different white hart !! Last week I received a debt collectors letter so again rang the pub and another lady listened to my story and said she would get the manager to deal with it! I was uncertain then as the two previous employees hadn’t dealt with this so I rang the company! Only to discover that as it had not been ‘dealt with’ by the staff as promised I had to pay £170 !!! As far as I was aware I had entered my number plate correctly on the machine on the bar!! Please don’t get caught out like me! A very expensive cup of coffee!!!!!"

Had a beautiful meal this evening. I had the chicken bacon salad. It was fabulous. My partner had the posh hot dog... he liked it. My son had the prawns. A hit from all of us. It's a locals pub but we felt welcomed and the staff were lovely. I recommend.

I had lunch after my morning cycle ride and it was great. I went for the belly of pork and it was an outstanding pub roast. Really creative use of vegetables including a leek gratin. Spuds were crisp and fresh, as was the Yorkshire pudding. Pork was generous succulent and creatively served with apple stuffing. I may be biased as I live in the village, but it’s great when your ‘local’ comes up trumps. Well done White Hart chef and team!

The restaurant has a beautiful setting, with a charming pub, garden, and play area. However, the staff were unwelcoming and the food was average and expensive. They automatically add a 10% tip to the bill, even though customers have to order at the bar and get their own utensils and condiments. The restaurant seems to be unsure of its identity, with a family-friendly playground and menu but a local-pub atmosphere that may not be welcoming to outsiders. Ver carta

One of the few country pubs left in Kent. We stopped here a couple of weeks ago and the pub was as nice inside as it is from out. The bar had a good selection of beers and we were lucky enough to sit out in the garden to enjoy breakfast and lunch. Afterwards we were able to walk the dog along the footpath by the river which is a pleasant route, there looks to be a footpath down the side of the pub so we will try that next time. We’ll be back in a few weeks for the live music evening.

I initially stayed at this restaurant while working in the area, and the staff were very welcoming and got to know me during my stay. Since then, I have returned multiple times for short stays and dinners. Newenden is just under an hour's drive from our home in London, so we often visit on weekends. I recently tried the ribeye steak from their new aging fridge and it was perfectly cooked with all the traditional sides. I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area or looking to escape the city for a weekend.

Unfortunately this pub seems to have fallen into the trend of adding a ’discretionary service charge’ on to the bill, whether you like it or not. Few people would not want to ask for the bill to be revised, so you are effectively forced into it. It should be my choice whether I should tip. I would not return here for this reason. Aside from this, the pizza was reasonable, but not excellent, especially consider the prices were around £16 on average (including the 10% additional fee). Staff were pleasant. Toilet was gross. This historic pub features low beams, an inglenook fireplace with a real wood fire, and local real ales that are well-kept. The landlord and staff are friendly and welcoming. Our room, located in the oldest part of the pub, was spacious and nicely renovated, with a large en-suite bathroom. The food is plentiful and, in my opinion, just right - it's hearty pub fare that is unpretentious yet of high quality. It's exactly what you would expect from a pub. Despite rising prices, the food is still fairly priced. And for those interested, there is even a resident ghost!

Urgh this pub has so gone down hill. Implemented parking fines for the smallest car park. Signs up everywhere youd this it was a military base. £4 for a diet coke. £22 for a salad that was literally leaves and one measly slice of undercooked beef. No tomatoes, cumber nothing. Had to send 2 meals back because they were inedible. And they add a service charge and don't say. After ordering drinks and food for everyone they added over £15 worth of service charge and I was carrying my drinks out to the garden. I asked them to take if off which they made a fuss about. Honestly avoid. Best of taking your own snacks of you've been paddleboarding nearby or head to Tenterden only 15 mins drive away mu...

"Our excitement to see this café open allowed us an opportunity for some needed refreshment . Oh a cup of tea and a slice of cake or a little available small snack was what we needed . We were told by an employee sit down we come to you , so we did .. Another staff member standing behind the counter looked over and frumpy look called the cook who had the same frumpy look and went back to cooking , We : waited , waited , waited , waited and saw the frumpy counter woman still in the same spot , we waited and waited then left , maybe she was glued to the floor . We looked left and saw a pub named the Pheasant, oh drink and food , renewed enthusiasm and excitement we entered to staff who couldn 't do enough, so professional and warrants praise and a revisit , after a while we left and waited outside for our taxi , looking over we saw the cafe closed , ahhhhh it all came together and understanding that we was an inconvenience to the café as they was closing in half an hour after our visit , How long would it have taken to make a cup of tea for two? , us drink it , then how long would it have taken them to wash up the cups ? , they still would have twenty minutes for the woman to be unglued, our first impressions were of a cafe with many seats and a welcoming atmosphere, the woman employee sitting at the front table working was professional and welcoming the tables were clean and we kept our excitement as we waited , our excitement and enthusiasm faded, we left happily for the woman glued to the floor , we are appreciating the effort of the lady at the table who was seriously let down by the others , thank you for your efforts , apart from her professional customer service skills our Eureka moment to see the café open wasn 't to last , sorry to the staff member at the table I 'm very sure the service we had wouldn 't have been what you would have given , this review seems strong in tone but it 's our experience in here that day.. . I am not now able to show enthusiasm for another visit , I would have loved having that day and opportunity to empty my wallet a little and a little bit more on what would have been another visit , sorry no Eureka moment taken away that day."
