The Wiremill Lakeside Pub Inn, Surrey

£17.95 for a roast that in all honesty wasn’t worth that. At most it should be around £12.50 for what was on our plates. Came away still hungry either add more food to a plate or reduced the price.

I stopped by for a casual lunch at this restaurant. The atmosphere was friendly and warm, with a comfortable old-fashioned feel. The restaurant had views overlooking the lake and a rich history as former nail manufacturers. The meal was simple, but well presented and delicious. They had Dorset beers on tap, and I enjoyed a well-kept pint of Badgers best.

I had an absolutely lovely lunch- the food was delicious, and as a vegetarian i was pleasantly surprised by the options that were available. I had the plant burger, and really enjoyed it. The setting is gorgeous with the view of the lake. The staff were helpful (I didn't catch many names but Lila was one of my servers and was very friendly), and I'll definitely be back again. Unfortunately I will not be making any further bookings The Wiremill is not what it used to be, the food, service and all round vibe it now has is nothing compared to past years Something seriously needs to happen to make this pub/restaurant get back to its former glory. It's a real shame as this venue has such good potential that sadly is not being used. What has happened? Very disappointed we used to visit monthly and seeing all the negatives reviews it seems I'm not alone in my opinion.

I have to say, the location of this restaurant is amazing, but that's about the only positive thing I can say. The staff seemed inexperienced and kept getting in each other's way, with nobody really knowing what they were doing. There were a lot of broken glasses and bottles, and the table service was lacking. I think I would have been better off going to the bar and getting my own drink. The place was also dirty, so we decided not to eat there. And don't even get me started on the toilets. I was really disappointed and will not be going back.

This is probably one of the worst roast dinners we have ever had. We visited this restaurant a few years ago and had enjoyed the food, but were extremely disappointed by the decline in quality. The roast was served lukewarm, dry, and arrived before we even received our drinks. It seemed like it had just been sitting there and reheated slightly. The cauliflower cheese was so hard that I couldn't even cut it. In total, we were in and out of the restaurant in just half an hour, and the staff were unfriendly. As a repeat customer we were happy with the food (Sunday lunch) service, however pretty disappointed with the inconsistent table booking policy. The app appears to have been updated so when booking a table outside there is an outside or lakeside option. We were seated outside but not in a lakeside booth (not all had reserved on them) told we could not move. Within a few minutes of our request, a table of 5 arrived asked to move were accommodated, followed by a couple who just seated themselves lakeside, they were initially moved but came back were served. I happy to accept a new policy but not when it doesn't apply to everyone.

Pub has been take over by Hall Woodhouse chain. We went for a breakfast which was truly awful. There were no coffee beans for coffee. The eggs royal was smothered in neon yellow tasteless wallpaper paste the cheapest of chemical ingredients. There was nothing farmhouse about the breakfast more plate than food. Frazzled tiny slim bacon pieces, a wizened sausage and a truly tiny tiny ramekin containing less than 2 tablespoons of beans. The toast was on the plate leaving no room for the meagre rations. All served stone cold in a stone cold pub as the boiler was in pieces in the car park and a plumbing van in attendance. Unfortunately so put off we won’t be eating there again but might call in f...

This place is always busy, purely due to the location. We go infrequently, always hoping things have improved, but they never have. This visit was an invitation from friends for brunch, which I’d never had there before. Four of us had the Full English. It was terrible in every aspect. Looked awful, streaky bacon (2 rashers! , really fatty, over cooked sausage, snotty egg, despite telling them how I wanted it cooked, slices of REALLY thin cold sourdough bread, half a tomato the size of a 50p, the same for the solitary mushroom.
