Toby Carvery - Carta

We had a table for 12 for an early family Christmas get together. All the team were amazing and made the meal really special. Big thanks goes to Kit who looked after our table.

Food is good but the Restaurant is very tired looking and could do with upgrading. Hygiene standards could do with reviewing as we found dirty Cutlery on the table plus dirty carpets

This restaurant is a fantastic place to dine, with fresh and delicious food served by friendly staff. I will definitely be making a reservation for Valentine's Day. The quality of the food is great considering the price. Ver carta

I want to express my gratitude to Ewan, Liv, and Chloe for their exceptional service last night. It was flawless and made us feel very welcome. They are a true asset to the restaurant. The food was outstanding and highly recommended. We will definitely be returning for more.

Went here with a long term friend, the food was so nice, roast beef just melted in the mouth, choice of veg was very good, and the Yorkshire puds were huge and delicious. Our server, Kit, was excellent, and very attentive couldn’t fault her, or anything about our visit, will definitely be going there again, and would highly recommend it.

Probably the wrong month to go. Week night, not usually busy, but it is December. Disinterested or too busy staff (not sure which but either way it was hard to get their attention). Cramped tables, if you like eating with strangers and people being able to listen to your conversation then fine. Luke warm food, which shouldn't be the case as there were queues and the turnaround must have been quite high. Ver carta

I arrived at the restaurant on Monday around 1 o'clock and was greeted by a young man with dark hair. Unfortunately, he was quite rude and seemed to be a manager as he was wearing his own clothes. He seated us across from the bar and then disappeared into the back near the office. We waited at the bar to place our order until we finally asked for assistance from a kind gentleman named Chris, who we know from previous visits. He was as lovely as always. Our meal was delicious as usual, but what bothered me the most was the young man with dark hair who sat a group of guests at the bar and then disappeared again, leaving Chris to handle everything. I'm not sure what this manager is doing or why...

If you want to go somewhere with yourself and a friend or loved one, don't discount Toby Carvery. I visited tonight (Tue 14th Nov 2023) with my husband and we had a brilliant time. We reserved a table and were given the option of bar area or main restaurant. I use a wheelchair and there were tables near us and it was more quiet so we chose the bar area. Every member of staff we spoke to were friendly and knowledgeable and explained everything to us. Different carvery's have different rules. Toby Carvery is however my personal favourite after tonight. My husband ordered at the bar and then went round to put our food on our plates. I had Gammon and Pork, stuffing, roast potatoes, mash potatoes...

This place has been in decline for a while but gave it another chance. I am not going to criticise the front of house staff as they were all very friendly and professional. I know how hard it is to find places to eat that cater for the vegan diet so Toby is usually a good choice as they used to offer a Mushroom and Ale Pie, they will also point out what Veg doesn't have butter etc. On this occasion the pie was called Spinach and Mushroom Pithivier. We were advised to go to a table and would be informed when our Pies were ready which we did. When our pies were ready we went to the service counter we collected our plates with the Pithivier (pie) on, selected from the veg which included burned... Ver carta
