I visited this restaurant last minute on a Sunday. It was much quieter than other Toby Carveries I have been to, which was a pleasant surprise. The food and service were great as usual. I also appreciated that this restaurant is dog-friendly.

It was comfortable and most of the food was tasty. Just some square cooked item ?haggis which was dry and tasteless. Considering that it was all you can eat, the waitress was a little eager to clear our table. But otherwise and as always with Toby it was a good place to be at.

There is no other place in Edinburgh that compares to this restaurant. We have dined here twice a day for a week and it has been incredible. Chef Thomas and Anna have been exceptional, the food has been outstanding, and the value for money unmatched. We are from Alberta, Canada and could not give a higher rating.

I love a Toby's breakfast as a treat for a catch up with friends or my Mum but the last time I was in was very underwhelming. The potato scones were brick hard around the edges, the chopped tomatoes were cold, there was only 3 sausages left and the square sausage was also hard. None of it was hot and the eggs weren't cooked properly (I know everyone eats them differently but the white should be fully cooked). Not sure I'll be back for breakfast after this.

I easily booked a breakfast online and found the staff to be helpful and friendly. We were informed that there would be a 10-minute wait for the buffet to be refilled, but the service was slow. We had to wait for eggs and mushrooms to be replenished while other parts of our breakfast grew cold. Additionally, a staff member was filling takeaway orders at the same counter, prioritizing them over the customers waiting at the buffet. Despite these issues, a staff member kindly refilled my water bottles before my journey home, which was greatly appreciated. She was a standout member of your team.

Felt l had to give a one star. Maybe Goethe poor staff who had to work here! The Boxing Day family dinner was just disgraceful. Poor starters, poor presentation, miserly quantity. Burnt, dry and indigestible roast beef, end of the joint. Completely fatty lamb which had to be scraped from the bone. Gammon was actually ok. Dried out and brick hard roast potatoes, appalling leftovers of vegetables, and nothing like the usual choice, cauliflower was way over cooked and watery ! Famous Yorkshire puddings ? were like cardboard, and no chance of cutting them! Goodness only knows what the thick brown soup was in a little bowl full of croutons ! The only thing in its favour was it was hot, in a freez...

Staff seriously need training on how to respectfully speak to customers. Shocking attitude from the young straight out of school inexperienced shift manager Domenic. I suggest you remember your position, serving your customers and keeping your opinions to yourself as to whether you think a customers attitude is to your liking or not. You think its funny to slag me off to your staff in front of us after you refused a year old a pint thinking id give it to my year old son. Upon you being confronted to such you state MY attitude was bad LOL even my year old son had to ask you to leave us alone to eat in peace due to your attitude.
