"We had the most amazing few days stay, at the Grand Hotel, in Grasmere. We stayed in room 44, which was a Classic Lodge. This was one of 5 lodges, just off the main hotel. The room did not disappoint, super, comfy king size bed, bath and shower with Molton Brown shower/bath and hand wash. Breakfast was included. We had our evening meals in the hotel restaurant. All our food was absolutely delicious. We had a starter each. Classic Seafood Cocktail Dressed crab, crayfish, avocado mousse, lettuce Marie Rose dressing. Crispy Duck shredded duck leg, julienne of vegetables egg noodles salad with hoi sin sesame seed sauce. For our main, we had the, Chateaubriand Fillet of beef cooked to your liking, served with chips, roquette , heritage tomato salad, buttered seasonal vegetables peppercorn sauce. Perfect to share between two. Absolutely superb. Louise, hotel manager is so lovely, very welcoming, polite and friendly. Her staff, were so friendly, helpful and attentive. They couldn't do enough for you. We bumped into Louise just outside the hotel, our first morning out. She advised us both of a lovely walk around Rydal Water. We was not disappointed.
